The question is how you get the DEMs to go along with this via budget.
You should read the Gateway Pundit.
quote:
This upheaval increases the risk that the U.S. Government will shutter its operations in 45 days because the Republicans first have to sort out who will be Speaker and that is likely to involve arduous horse trading.
Once you have the Speaker then you have to re-start negotiations with the Senate on how to keep the Government operating.
I believe that Ukraine is on the chopping block. There are enough members of the House who are furious over spending billions in Ukraine while the security of the southern U.S. border is ignored.
There are even some Democrats miffed over the paltry sums allocated to assist the decimated residents of Maui while Zelensky and his crew are rolling in dough.

You think because you throw "emotional" at every argument you can't rebuke is effective? (It isn't)
Have you ignored all the exclamation points and caps lock used when describing muh fight?

What is the point of randomly engaging in aggression, if not emotion?
My hatred of irrational aggression is not some new thing. I used to write about it at length in poker discussions on here circa 2005-2007.
Irrational aggression is bad. It has made me a lot of money over the years, though, admittedly.

From the fine purveyor of "nut up or shut up" comes don't be emotional(!) because I can't envision and need someone to explain to me an alternate path.

Because you don't have a leg to stand on, you rely on the rabble to define your opposition and then try to apply that to posters of substance.
Over and over and over again.
Kind of like when you and the other undistinguished lawyers use your favorite phrase, "this board"
It's boring and transparent.

The Senate should be asking: You think this passes the House?
The Republicans have to be willing to shut down the government, period.

OK, let's start with just reading then.

Shut it down.

I mean, MAGA self-identifies as this. It's literally part of the movement. I didn't create that avatar for them. They did.

to placate you, I've started saying "certain posters on this board" and using more definitions.
Like the people who have supported: GWB, McCain, "The Tea Party", Trup, and proclaim to have a unified political philosophy.

Don't be emotional, unless you're the speaker of the house, then court your own demise. Your wisdom is impeccable, oh, Vulcan logic lord.

There's nothing emotional about making your opponent do what he says he's going to do. This applies to Gaetz and KM equally.
I never claimed Gaetz was acting emotionally, FWIW.

As opposed to republican leadership imposed Democrat victory? Again, you missed entirely the entire sellout process of Mccarthy that got him run through.

That's why the MSM is whining, howling and crying like the scamdemic is over.

He sent surrogates out basically calling him a do nothing blow hard and to not listen to him. That somehow falls outside of your Emotion (patent pending) backstop. Purposefully missing the point is a pretty weak move.

Kind of like losing a $100 pot v. a $10 pot.

I don't like KM, but he was in a position of weakness with the DEMs. There is no magical person who can project power when your party isn't in power.
Again, how do you get the Democratic Senate and President to agree to your terms?
Shutdown isn't a threat, b/c that helps the DEMs.

What percentage of Americans would even be able to tell that the government was shut down?
It's disingenuous to be the supposed party of small government, while being afraid to shut down the operations of the government to achieve your goals.
And we all know that the government doesn't really shut down. There are so many protected services, as well as all of the government employees get back pay once it opens back up.
The Republicans have to relay that they are willing to shut down if they don't get what they want.
This fight happens every year, and it's always blamed on the Republicans. It's bullshite.

these shutdown battles happen every few years. The DEMs have a ton more Ws compared to the GOP.
