Seriously, what's the hold up here? I don't need it, but our government is worthless.

I don't qualify. But know some small businesses who basically got fricked because of the shutdowns, and $600, $1,400, or the whole $2,000 isn't going to put them back into business.

Only 9% of this bill goes to CoVid relief.

The income level has just been changed. It's 80K for single; 160K for married (annual income). Sorry about that all the rich posters on The Rant. You get nothing.

You answered your own question.
And we dont need a "stimulus" package, we need to open the country back up

i think they probably wait until may or so and use the 2020 tax returns

For posterity to clarify the upper limits changed...where the total payment goes to 0.
For individual filers people that make < 75K still get $1400
Likewise for married filers couples that make < 150K still get $2800
What changed is that in the House bill the cutoff to get 0 dollars was 100K for individuals and 200K for couples.
In the Senate bill that goes down to 80K for individuals and 160K for couples.

All 535 members of Congress are busily either attempting to stuff every possible earmark/pet project/unrelated expenditure into the relief bill, or bloviating about fiscal responsibility (l o fricking l).....while simultaneously complaining that the other 534 members are doing the same thing.
When you have that many people who are addicted to the sound of their own voice, these things take time.

everyone on here is rich, owns their own business, hundreds of employees, you know the usual. That's why everyone is always asking this question.

Absolutely. But I believe they’re attempting to get people used to socialist government checks. This is rather biblical what’s going on in this country right now.

Will get back to you on that. But it's almost noon and time for my personal assistant to serve the martinis and take the dogs for their hourly walk around the estate.

Not really. Many don't get the loans for fear that they will have to repay the loans, which would only add to their financial struggles later on.
Especially in the case where the only employees of the small business are the owner and perhaps a spouse.

They’re embedded in some brown people’s skulls over in Syria.

And upon failure to repay the government will take control of said business and pay the former owners a living wage.

They did open the country back up. Didn't you see the thread about 108 illegal immigrants. Even covid isn't enough reason to keep someone out who isn't legally allowed to be here.
Just imagine if they followed all laws so seriously...
Officer: Have a nice day sir!
Drunk: I thought I was 3 times over the legal limit.
Officer: Yes sir, this temporary detaining was for testing and record keeping purposes only. We need it to increase our funding/staff for catching drunk drivers.
