When did the standard for a successful debate become “acting like an obedient child”?

Because it worked out so well for Romney, Ryan, McCain, etc. right? If Trump would’ve politely sat there and let Chris Wallace talk for 2 minutes, Biden talk for 2 minutes, and respond in his two minutes, he would’ve been absolutely cannibalized just by the nature of the inequality of the questions being asked. The media is actively trying to frick him over.

I didn’t tune in to the debate to watch Chris Wallace debate Trump and ask him questions like “why are you a racist bigot white supremacist” then turn to Biden and ask him “can you elaborate a little bit on how you’ve obviously been the biggest champion for the black community in the history of politics?”

Any time Trump would back Biden into a corner, Chris Wallace would have to chime in with “M m m m m Mr. President. I i I i. I am the D-d-debate m-moderator”. That’s not a debate, it’s a biased shafting. Good for Trump for interrupting that shitshow, I don’t give a frick if my president tries to act like Ronald Reagan 2.0 so he can lose quietly like Romney but look like a nice guy doing it. That Republican Party is dead and it’s never coming back, so conservatives either need to get used to and support aggressive debate tactics, or get used to losing every election from here on out because this isn’t the 1988 media and they need to be dealt with accordingly.

Exactly. That's why the media is pissed. They knew Trump wasn't going to lay down, but now they have to feign outrage over Trump being "mean" to poor old Joe.

By the way, that tells you who they think really won. "Trump beat up on our poor feeble candidate". That's who you want running the country.

Also, the entire media cult is in unison chanting "Joe shouldn't do anymore debates". Does that sound like something the winning side would say?

Some people...media, Democrats, weak bitch republicans...are missing Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, and John McCain right about now.

Those guys knew their roles.

Don't worry about it. Had the roles been reversed, the MSM would have adored Joe for his sauciness and spunk - like when he challenged 'fat' to pushups; and challenged to step outside with that younger voter ... who would have kicked Joe's arse.

The media fawned over that Joe as well.

Can you imagine if Trump challenged a worker to a fight?

The standard has always been "respectful discourse", which really meant that "anything goes during your allotted time".

No one did, well... no one not already voting for Biden. The issue though is there is a way to handle that without coming across as blathering.

"Hey Chris, I've already answered that question multiple times. Joe's own VP pick accused him of being a racist. If you're really being fair, where's the question to him about her accusations? Where's the acknowledgement that I've already answered this question multiple times?"

If you're going to interrupt like that, it should be with a zinger. What Trump did most often though was interrupt with his normal ramblings, that doesn't sell as well.

This right here... it scared them in 2016 and they didn't take it seriously because it was "her turn"... Now, they want to paint as the mean orange man...

Sorry, I was tired of the Romney's and McCain's wanting to play nice while their opponents did no such thing...

The biggest problem with the present day GOP is their complete lack of a backbone & their refusal to fire back at the Main Stream Media, Democrats & all of these Uber Liberal groups that have infected America w/Anti-American BS!

President Trump simply doesn’t have it in him to sit back & allow himself, his family, his supporters & especially his Country that he so obviously LOVES to be ripped apart! He’s a very capable FIGHTER whos not afraid & can’t help defending what he believes in & what he knows to be true about AMERICA & the vast majority of its citizens (even the white ones)!

The problem is that aside from a handful of Congressmen & media personalities the GOP is nothing but a large collection of RINOs that just want to stay elected so they feel as though they need the Media & DC est. types to like them & talk nice about them! For the life of me I don’t understand how ignorant these RHINOs are for repeatedly playing nice w/the same Liberal Media that continually destroys them regardless of how “Nice” the RINOs attempt to be!
