Great video from the JRE with a social psychologist and prefessor about the problems with social media, outrage culture, callout culture, and higher education.
Most depressing part: he doesn't think this will correct itself and he goes into detail about why.

It actually started in the early 90's.
It just got more crazier on College Campuses now.
But the early 90's introduced speech codes onto College campuses.
The so-called bastion of free speech and ideas turned with feminazis and the radical Left (a minority voice) shouting the loudest.

This. The early 90's around the time Clinton took over. He started hiring cabinet & other leadership positions strictly based on gender & race(I'm looking at you Jocelyn Elders & Janet Reno) & openly admitting that is why he was hiring them.
Also think of the movie PCU which came out in the mid 90's. It was a comedy about PC college students & faculty & at that time we looked at it & laughed & wondered how this could happen. Watch that movie now & it is like a documentary. All the idiotic PC kids & faculty are considered the norm now. Jeremy Piven's first staring role & he was amazing in it.
