I agree it's uncalled for.

But I'm fairly certain all of that has been said about the Obama's, Clinton's, or any other liberal.

On this board.

A whole lot.

It is unacceptable to most people. Freedom of speech and all that shite though.

People do it all the time and not just to the current POTUS. Some just do it on larger stages.

Not sure when it started, but it was very popular around here circa 2009 - 2017

Nope. And quite honestly, that's a lot different than message board posters anonymously claiming that Michael has a hoyner.

That's my point. We're minions in this stupid name-calling game and no one sees our posts on TD. But a celeb with twitter broadcasts to several hundred thousand, if not millions so it carries weight.

Point being, JT indicated that this essentially "started" in 2009 hence my question.

By celebrities or public figures in public often with the tacit approval of many in the media? Mitch McConnell was blasted for publically vowing to make Obama a one term president by blocking his agenda. That public statement was worthy of criticism at the time but wasn't vulgar or especially mean spirited or a personal attack. There seems to be a general sense that publically saying "F Trump" or publicly calling Ivanka or Melania feckless "####s" is fair game because it's now virtuous on the Left to "resist" those you disagree with politically by any means necessary. Sour much for "Love trumps Hate". "Do as I say, not as I do" is the new Leftist motto.

Generally, the left likes to project that they are the party of inclusion and tolerance, but those terms only apply to those that agree with their views.

If liberals don’t agree with your views, in today’s digital age, they personalize things (not your policy as much) and perceive you to be fair game for their vitriol.

It's been going on in private conversation since we founded this country, but the difference is, until Trump was elected, it wasn't acceptable behavior for people with far-reaching media platforms to do it.

Breitbart's book says it's a way for Dems to reach out to crude young people. The 18-25 y.o. crowd uses profanity multiple times per sentence.
Young people that were brought up better and use proper language aren't gonna become Dems anyway.

True but... the national media didn't show any of this. Now they show it constantly.
