When’s the last time in the South you saw a Klan march or a KKK member in public?
1978 here when the idiots held a rally at the fairgrounds where I grew up. Myself and a group of high school students watched it from across the road drinking beer.
Creeped me out for sure but that was 40 years ago!
I’m pretty sure all them frickers are dead now.

Left wingers truly believe they are a hero like Superman fighting against Nazis in a 1940's comic book. They have to keep that boogyman alive in their heads at all costs, or the whole delusion breaks down.
When you've been told daily in your online silos like Reddit that you are the righteous hero and any insane behavior you exhibit for the "cause" (rioting, firebombing Tesla delearships, etc) is justifiable, the idea that you might be the bad person is too much for them to handle.
Therefore, they must believe that anyone who doesn't acquiesce to the insane left is a Nazi. And there are Nazis and KKK rallies "everywhere" for them to endlessly "fight" against.
