He is still opposing extradition from Illinois to Wisconsin. As such, he is not in a position (procedurally) to seek a modification of the ridiculous $2 million bail (set ex parte) in Wisconsin and is still sitting in an Illinois juvenile facility.

Sup Hankster. Are you serious, $2 million?? I suppose it isn't possible for his attorneys to make an advance visit to the Wisconsin court with Motion to Reduce/Modify Bond? And they waive his appearance and do it in absentia?

In any event, 2 mil is one of the sillier bail settings I've ever heard of.

He’s settled back enjoying a fine Bourbon: Bibb & Tucker 12. He’s having two shots and a splash.

If I were a betting man, I would wager a substantial sum that his lawyers and the DA in Wisconsin are engaged in some serious negotiations about bail reduction versus dropping the opposition to extradition. My money says that within another month or so, Rittenhouse waives his challenge to extradition, appears in Wisconsin, posts an agreed (reasonable) bail and is released within a day or two, with terms that allow him to cross the state line to his home in Illinois.

Yeah, $2 million. Absolutely ridiculous. That kid is not remotely a flight risk.

I'm not a criminal guy, but I don't see how they could do so officially. Until he makes a formal appearance in Wisconsin, don't you see some substantial "standing" problems? And he cannot make such an appearance while challenging extradition, right?

I don't trust for his safety in Wisconsin.

Let Trump get elected and then amp up the process of removing some of Wisconsin's swamp people.

Yeah, I imagine that negotiation is going on, and standing would indeed be an issue especially in light of the fact that they currently trying NOT to make an official appearance in the Wisco court. I suppose if they did make such an appearance, that would have been voluntarily submitting to the jurisdiction of the court.

I know his crowd funding keeps getting shut down. But I thought he got at least a million for his defense so far. Couldn't that be used for bail? Wouldn't he just have to put up 200k for a bondsman to get him out?
