I think Lindell was a true believer, but you can "lose everything" as a grifter if you can't supply the echo chamber with its red meat, or make a comment that has them turn on you, or just go off the deep end (like Rekieta, Milo, etc.).
It's kind of like cult leaders (but crazier because there is competition for the consumers of content here unlike in a cult). They HAVE to keep raising the stakes or else they risk the whole thing collapsing. When you have to constantly keep coming up with more stuff to move the needle, after you've desensitized your audience so much, it fricks people up.
That's why so many cult leaders end up so insane and on drugs or raping kids and killing people. Once you start this train, there ain't no stopping. If Trump wins in November, and these grifters are no longer exist as the marginalized/oppressed, responding to what they perceive as the powerful side...and they become the oppressor/dominant side, you're going to see some crazy shite b/c the demand will dry up.

I'd say the Trump black cards and shite like that, but I also think most politicians do these things.
Trump University was a grift as well, but that was a long time ago and it sounds like something that just kind of fell apart rather than something that started out as a grift.

As cynical as this sounds, I'd say that the biggest example of "MAGA grifting" is probably Benny Johnson, followed closely by Jeremy Griggs (Geeks and Gamers/DDayCobra)
