What's it take to hit 500k posts on this great PT forum?

What's it take?

Obviously it takes a near maniacal devotion of personal time and effort towards the goal of 500k....no children or grandchildren, no significant other and if possible no job certainly makes the march towards 500k a real possibility.

But more specifically, it takes a person who is frequently dropping their last post at 11 PM, and then dropping their first post of the next day at 5:30 AM and during that 17-19 hour stretch you must continue to post at an hourly rate of 7-8 posts/hour.......and do the same shite day after day after day. Most of us will never approach such a lofty and notable achievement.

I'm not sure if any poster has reached the 500K post count on this forum yet but when/if it occurs.....there has to be a forum celebration of some type and an official document/plague of recognition for the person who has devoted the required time and effort to reach such a monumental achievement.........

It takes absolute unwavering confidence in the importance of every thought that crosses your mind.

I'd have 25k more posts if I hit submit every time instead of choosing not to post for whatever reason. In this endeavor, no post should go unsubmitted.

One of the best scenes.

No. There doesn’t have to be any recognition at all.

Exactly. The better part of reason takes over at some point.

It's not a goal of mine to hit 500k but I'm fascinated by people who have the dogged determination to pursue that 500K number. I probably won't hit 100k, too old and started too late on the forum, didn't sign up until 2013.

It takes responding to every hysterical response to your posts over 26 years.

Oh, and kissing just enough arse to not get banned in that time.

I'm sure everyone has had a day with 100 posts. Elections, big game days, etc.

Imagine that being the norm for 25 years and you get 500,000 posts

Yeah, I think you also need to have friends who have your back and believe in your vision of PT immortality.

That's what I'm saying. To hit 500k takes the same level of commitment a good employee would demonstrate towards their employer and their job performance, the 500k pursuit basically becomes a job that requires +10 hours every day.

I would assume, due to the time demands of hitting 500k, they're probably practicing celibacy. I guess if 500k is the goal it's worth giving up some other aspects of a normal and healthy lifestyle.

If you just picked a random number, say ~463,000 posts, it would be ~ 2 posts per hour, every hour, every day for 24.75 years.

Dedication indeed.

i've pointed this out several times to the poster who pretends to be a lawyer, with 460,000 post. the likely hood off him being a lawyer is slim to none, or for that matter being employed.

I've been here for just over 20 years and I post fewer times per day than I did 10 years ago. I only read about 1/4 of the threads because most topics don't interest me or they're repetitive and there's nothing new to discuss.
Most people here are good writers but the critique I'd make for some is to check for conciseness. Some will use 100 words to convey a 25 word thought.
