re: What itch does posting here scratch for you?

Likewise, I question why anyone would want to post in an echo chamber, as that wouldn’t be interesting or stimulating at all - yet a large number of people do just that. So why? Why do you post here in a place where you agree with most of what is posted? What is engaging about that?
Lemme splain it. There is a reason that the left refuses to debate while the right enjoys it. The leftist hangs around people who are like minded.
What does a left wing debate look like?
Bob: 'I think Obama is our best President since Clinton.'
Jack: 'No! He's the best President in History!' Places like DU just ban anyone who says 'This thing Trump just did is pretty good.'
A right leaning place like we have here does not ban opposing opinions. And we actually have MANY debates here. I'm extreme right wing. But there are lots of conservative posters who disagree with me. We don't walk in lockstep like leftists. Therefore, discussions here are interesting. I'm here to be exposed to ideas I hadn't thought of. I learn a lot here. I skip the topics where I have no interest.

Why do I post here?
I care about my country. I'm insightful enough to understand that the #1 enemy of our country is our corrupt Political Establishment. Democrats are the worst offenders, but so many Republican elected officials are corrupt, too. For example, I genuinely despise the evil Clinton family, but I also despise the corrupt Bush family cabal, too.
That's one reason why I dwell on my support for Trump and the MAGA Movement. I figured out a decade ago that the reason why the corrupt Political Establishment hates Trump is because he's an outsider. The last thing the Establishment ever wanted was for an outsider to both run for President and win the Presidency (2016 was supposed to be Hillary Clinton vs. Jeb Bush. Thank God DJT overturned the money changer's tables). Hence, the unprecedented attacks that we've seen on Trump, from the false narrative of Trump/Russia collusion to 2 impeachments to a stolen election to an FBI raid on his home to bogus indictments in 4 different jurisdictions to attempting to remove his name from the ballot in several states to, FINALLY, multiple assassination attempts.
I humbly consider myself to be a watchman of sorts, trying to wake people up to the OBVIOUS TRUTH about what I've mentioned above. But alas, some people don't want to accept the truth and some are simply too stupid to see it.
What I DON'T DO is come here and post one passive-aggressive thread after another trying to imply my superiority. I have a sincere cause, the health and well-being of my country, so there's no need to play stupid games.

Same as you.
For the dopamine hits. Just like all the other addicts.
Per Grok:
Yes, social media can trigger dopamine release in the brain. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter associated with pleasure and reward, and social media platforms are designed to engage users in ways that stimulate it. Here's how:
- **Instant Gratification**: Likes, comments, shares, and notifications provide quick, positive feedback, activating the brain's reward system and releasing dopamine. This creates a feel-good response, encouraging repeated engagement.
- **Variable Rewards**: Social media operates like a slot machine with unpredictable outcomes (e.g., waiting for likes or new content). This uncertainty heightens dopamine release, as the brain craves the anticipation of a reward.
- **Social Validation**: Positive interactions, like receiving praise or gaining followers, tap into social reward circuits, further boosting dopamine.
- **Scrolling and Novelty**: Endless feeds and new content keep users engaged by offering novel stimuli, which the brain associates with potential rewards, triggering small dopamine hits.
Studies, like those from neuroscientists such as Dr. Anna Lembke, suggest this cycle can lead to compulsive use, as users chase the dopamine-driven "high." However, excessive use may desensitize the brain’s reward system over time, requiring more engagement to achieve the same effect.

If it was asked that way, it's a silly question, isn't it?
That wasn’t the verbatim phrasing but close enough. I agree that it was a stupid question and really just another attempt at pointless hostility.

You usually make meaningful contributions and I enjoy reading your posts even when I disagree with your reasoning.

A cult is a very small minority of an overall population- MAGA is the super Majority in this country so it’s impossible for MAGA to be a cult

I stopped posting for about ten years and somehow I’m still breathing. That pokes a hole in your claim.

people are abusive in response to my opposing viewpoints.

I disagree. Even I voted for Trump in 2016 because I detested Hilary. I think Trump’s approval rating is around 41% - not a super majority.

I usually get any relevant news here before anywhere else, and at the time I started reading, I couldn't trust the MSM for anything and needed to be sure I wasn't insane or the only one who thought what we all know.
I found out JBE was gonna shut our state down from here bc of "sauces" before it was announced. TD is on par w/ TMZ.

Make a compelling case and it makes it hard to criticize, i.e. men in women's sports, open borders are all losing arguments for 90% of the population.

post in an echo chamber
See above. There are lots of viewpoints, mostly to the right, but even they have differing views on lots of subjects. Progressives and lots of liberals are for open borders and men in women's sports. Makes no sense at all.

I agree. There is one thread that I still think you should have surrendered to my argument and agreed that I was ultimately correct, though. It was the thread about the city of or near Dallas that sold “unclaimed” corpses (without notifying families of the deceased). You argued that selling the corpses was akin to donating them.
Anyway, I like you even though we disagree a lot. You’d be on my Christmas card list if I knew you irl.
