Well, people want a team. A pro sports team means you’re a big city, a city that matters. It brings prestige. And since there are fewer teams than there are suitable cities, the owners can shake down the locals. It’s always been that way.
You're telling this to a group of people that live near a city that shouldn't even have a team

Complete and absolute crap, especially considering these multi-billion dollar organizations will hold the cities hostage and threaten to leave if they don’t.
Nobody stands up to them. If leaders and citizens said enough it would stop.

The only way I support is if there is a revenue sharing clause to pay the loan off with interest.
And a SUBSTANTIAL penalty for moving the team within a 20 year window after the construction is complete.
Other than that it’s garbage.

Ridiculous.
Making public investments to maximize private profits.

I don’t mind it but the use of the stadium should be fairly distributed to all forms of entertainment not just football. It’s a tax payer funded entertainment arena

I think it sucks. I don't give a rats arse about the pro teams in Louisiana. I pull for them but if they weren't here I wouldn't have a problem with that.

I don’t mind it I realize that it is necessary in this day and age. I get pissed about a lot of ways my tax dollars are spent on things I don’t like. At least stadiums are something I do like.

A lot of valid concerns and thoughts. But, it all comes down to who the people vote for. A billionaire can ask but the city can say yes or no. In most cases the politicians say yes. So don’t blame the owners for asking.
My kid can ask me for a new car and threaten to run away. But, I can still answer yes or no. I never get mad at people for asking but I often get mad at the answer. The only pro sports team I really give two hoots about is the Braves. And if they asked for the moon and were told no and threatened to move to Nashville, I’d say bye. I would then tell the the politicians good job or vote them out.
