I was happy that Christie was cast off.
i loathe Chris Christie and Sessions seems about as terrible as a choice for AG

Maybe this is simply a result of giving Sessions his pick of positions based on his strong support of Trump through the primary and general? I hope so.
i hope Trump is playing 7D, interdimensional backgammon and this is a sacrificial lamb to get skewered by the MSM and then cast aside for his REAL choice

Marijuana is not a drug.
lol
THC and CBD those are "drugs". Calling marijuana a drug is like calling peas and carrots drugs.
Or, it's like calling the paid rioters in cities right now simple "protestors".

Yep.
Elections have consequences.
Elections have consequences.

Sessions was chosen because of his stance on immigration. He is Trumps immigration guru.
why AG?
the people who are directly responsible for handling our immigration problems are nowhere near the DOJ. he would be suited for head of ICE or HLS

No he's not. He's a Constitution type. He wants to enforce the Constitution and ethically he's a choir boy. He's the kind of guy that will pursue Republicans with a zeal. That's EXACTLY what I want in my AG.
Since I like and respect you Josh, how about we both bookmark this, and convene back here when things don't get scary.
There is no need for anybody to bury the bong in the back yard. Deep breath people.

Sanctuary cites for starters.

what about them?
how would AG have a bigger impact than running ICE and reforming the communications b/w those cities and federal LEO?

Seems the best thing would be for the current POTUS to move it off the schedule.
I still think that is going to happen.

he's a big fan of civil asset forfeiture, too

again
he is a big fan of civil asset forfeiture
that is about as anti-constitutional as it gets

it's a pretty good barometer of how much governmental intrusion a politician wants to have via government
Nothing I've seen from Sessions makes me think he will take steps to get the FedGov out of people's lives. That is going to be the real issue with a Trump administration, regardless of what he does on foreign policy and immigration I see nothing that shows he will weaken the FedGov besides Obamacare and maybe Dodd-Frank.

i was telling my GOP friends that they need to make it public that the GOP wants to do this (as well as work on sentencing reform and changing a lot of the laws on possession-based crimes at the federal level). this is the one way they can start to legitimately speak to black Americans
and they seem to be going in the opposite direction
the GOP could frick up a wet dream

Because frick that. Follow the fricking law god damnit!
fricking take their Fed money and build the wall with that shite.

exactly
the funny thing is that the DEMs under HRC would be promoting the same sort of authoritarian policies, but now Trump is going to let the media-academic bubble spin it as a GOP-centric set of policies.

CAF can be applied even where you aren't breaking the law. Then you have to go prove you weren't breaking the law by hiring an attorney with all of the money you no longer have in order to have a small chance at getting anything back.

well i think there are literal communication issues between the agencies and that allows the cities a sort of loop hole to claim ignorance
i meant literally reforming the communications b/w LEO ops

People need to go smoke a bowl and calm down. I can't believe the level of melt in this thread. You are melting over speculation of what he might or might not do.
Posted on 11/18/16 at 11:21 am to SlowFlowPro
Well if the media starts believing this shite is right wing then maybe they will rail against it and away some people towards small government?
Posted on 11/18/16 at 11:21 am to MrLarson
fair enough. I just don't like the guy. Either way, he isn't the last word on legalization laws.
