I get that "being scared" sounds extreme, and it probably is, but history does led some validity to that fear.

I'll have to find the story but here is the gist I remember:

Specifically, for years, the Department of Defense, tried to get specific data (I believe street level) from the census department during WWII but the director at the time refused. Eventually a DOD-friendly director was appointed as director and provided that data, and the DOD used that to find Japanese residents to round them up into internment camps.

So if the census data has been used to imprison Citizens and otherwise, based solely on their ethnic ancestry, then I don't think anyone would be wrong for at least being somewhat fearful of what they could do with the data.

But weren’t those Japanese people legal citizens?

why the excuses? why should I care?

My inspection sticker expired on June 30 and I didn't get it updated/inspected until July 8, for a few reasons. One of them was laziness (or at least, chose other things to manage). I fully knew my crime, though.

Every cop I passed, I wondered if he/she was eying me for a ticket. Had I gotten caught, I would have had no excuses to get out of it. Nor would I have blamed you, the law, the 98-F heat, or Trump or dumbfrick Sheila Jackson Lee.

Yet excuses galore, from the Left and their precious illegals.
