Well if that’s the strong likelihood that y’all describe, then it would be a pretty insufferable move on Desantis’ part, knowing full well the same grim odds that y’all are referencing. Surely Desantis wouldn’t knowingly and intentionally set the stage for that certainty to occur. If he did, and all that did come to pass, well then it’s an unforgivable action (or lack thereof, as it were) on his part.

Then it would be just as insufferable for Trump to run, right? That's not the gotcha you think it was. 1, you're assuming that DeSantis believes the same thing. And I have no idea what the odds are, I'm just telling you which way I'd bet if I had to. Prognosticating in politics, especially this far out, is pretty damn speculative.

2, It probably depends on the polling. If Trump has 80% support then running would be a waste of time and money regardless of what would happen in the general.

It's not a guarantee he would, but Trump guarantees Biden for 4 more and Dem control of the House

Trump is currently more toxic than Hillary was in '16.

I like him, but I'm still pissed that he allowed himself to get duped into going along with all of the pandemic, lockdown and vaccine bullshite. He helped create the perfect conditions, was played a fool and allowed the Democrats the construct the cheating machine that they have in place. It'll be brutally difficult to unseat Democrats nationally because of the L he took there.

I don’t intend any gotcha on that. You know me better than that. Or at least I wish you did, then I’d feel like someone’s recognized my usual efforts to avoid coming off like that. We’re actually not far from the same page on all that. I don’t disagree at all with #2, and as for the first paragraph, although I may be missing your point, I’d respond with the assertion that I do affirmatively believe that either or both fellas would/will have honest intentions at the core of their run for office.

no

it'll be just like 2020 where the left will vote in ANYONE to avoid the right taking the office again.

It's how we got here now

See, that's the whole problem I have with all of this. You're motivated to not vote for Trump because you're afraid of what the left will do.

That's why the democrats have our number and they'll obviously have it for awhile. If we're gung-ho to get Ron in there because he isn't Trump, and because you're afraid of making the Dems have some ironclad, resolute purpose, it's already over.

When you vote by who you think the Dems will LET you run, you get people like McCain and Mitt. That's how the democrats want you to think and it looks like they've got you figured out.

They've done everything but kill the man. They've cheated every election. They win at all costs against his candidates. They impeached twice. They did the whole J6 BS hoping for charges. NY AG is threatening subpoenas. Ivanka just got subpeonad. Russian collision. Nonstop bad press. I think by the level of retaliation the fact that Trump is a wrecking ball is quite clear.

He’s already been bought by Ken Griffin and Rupert Murdoch. Do you think Trump is just assuming he’s running? He knows. You’re not in a position of knowledge.

You people who think Trump or Desantis has a chance against a democrat? You really think Biden got more votes than Obama did running against Romney? You think the democrats won 2020 legitimately? You are fools.

Idk, but Desantis & Trump in a debate would be highly entertaining.
