No, I don't want a government ruled by the priests and preachers, but believe that Jesus is Lord and all people should recognize that. I believe that our country should be honoring God and that we should not continued blessing by Him if we do not honor Him. Secular humanism is a bankrupt ideology, and that's essentially what our government promotes now, so it's no wonder we are in the mess that we're in.

So where do Jews fit into your utopia? Do they still have to pay taxes since you're denying them representation? Or maybe the voices in your head are telling you to kill them and rape their daughters? (Foo loves that divine child rape. It's objectively moral when the voices in his head demand it, just ask him.)

What utopia? I believe all governments in every nation should also recognize the authority of Jesus Christ as the King and Lord who has ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. This isn't just an American thing in my mind. And even so, there is still sin in the world. There will be no utopia this side of heaven, even if our government did the right thing and recognized that the authority to govern comes from Jesus, not from the people or anyone else.

quote:

Do [the Jews] still have to pay taxes since you're denying them representation?
Our government recognizing Jesus Christ as Lord does not remove representation from Jews, Muslims, or Atheists any more than the notion that our government recognizes our inalienable rights come from God remove representation from Atheists, Agnostics, or others who are not monotheists. The civil government is still responsible for the oversight of the civil sphere and the civil laws of the land. The government is not there to force anyone to believe anything about God, but only to provide inroads for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be proclaimed rather than silenced.

quote:

Or maybe the voices in your head
What voices? I have never heard a voice in my head that wasn't my own thoughts ever in my life.

quote:

...are telling you to kill them and rape their daughters?
Again, I hear no voices. I'm driven by the word of God in the Bible, not by supposed voices. The Bible says that for me to kill and rape would be violations of at least the 6th and 7th commandments, and thus would be sinful.

quote:

(Foo loves that divine child rape.
No I don't. That seems like a slanderous accusation

quote:

It's objectively moral when the voices in his head demand it, just ask him.)
It's not. This is more slander because it is accusing me of believing that hearing "voices in [your] head" is a normative experience that should always be followed.

It's a complete misrepresentation of the Scriptures and my belief in them, meant to ridicule me and what I believe. If you want to engage in this seriously, please do, but you are just being combative and slandering me.

I don't want a theocracy but I sure would like to see a majority of Americans who are elected to high political office be God fearing, with an unquenchable thirst for righteousness and with unwavering godly principles.

There's no way the nation would continue on the current path of degradation if we had principled and moral people as a majority in the House and Senate......squishy establishment DC Uniparty republicans have damaged this constitutional republic every bit as much as the Dims have.

This and I would add "common sense"

like a balanced budget and laws that would NOT allow people to squat in some else's house or illegal entry into our country

Just give ma a cane pole, and a shady spot to sit.

To me that's about as close to Heaven as a man can get...

This country might actually be a good place to live if people would let the constitution be the rule of law. Small, limited FEDERAL government. A Republic made up of 50 self-governing sovereign states. Each of the states having its own laws based on its own ideals. Crazy I know.

I'll contend that it was never given a chance to work at all. Powers and forces, foreign and domestic, (mostly foreign) started immediately counteracting and subverting the newly invented rule of law. Things were permeated and corrupted by nameless and/or faceless entities from elsewhere, interested even back then, at imploding or dismantling this place.

They say absolute power corrupts absolutely. The idea was for nobody to have absolute power but WE THE PEOPLE.
