What's the incentive for being good at any job?

Why would someone go to med school instead of flipping burgers?

One thing this society would have in common with right now is that politician would be the ultimate job to have.

Have you ever seen Star Trek? It's that. They want a society where there is no scarcity, where there is no race, where all have suitable employment correspondent with their abilities, where everything functions, there is no war, there is no hatred, no hunger, no religion, just good happy people.

Leftists believe that human beings are blank slates who can be perfected by their environment. Thus, by controlling every aspect of the environment, they can make humanity perfect. Leftists are utopian.

However, as history has shown time and time again, people are inherently flawed, absolute power corrupts absolutely, there is no such thing as "post-scarcity" because humans have unlimited wants in a finite world, and communism straight up does not, never has, and never will work at scale.

To answer this question specifically however, some people want to be a doctor for a lot of different reasons. Money isn't the reason why everyone does what they do. It may seem that way when a person is a burger flipper.

This makes complete sense.

-You are told what to do by benevolent adults in a regimented and controlled way.
-The teacher gives the same amount of candy to each child, no matter how fast or well the kids do on the tests.
-Gold stars are awarded for conformity rather than achievement.
-Boys are forced to suppress their energy and their standard of behavior is based off girls.
-If someone misbehaves, the whole class is punished
-Everyone stays in line, risk taking is punished
-Everyone advances to the next grade
-The class moves at the speed of the slowest learners
-To get my way I throw a tantrum

Sounds a lot like Orwell's 1984.
