Yeah yeah...don’t even start with the smart arse, smug, snide comments. This is an honest question meant for serious debate and thought.

I seriously think if the country keeps on the path it is going, the South and Midwest should secede and leave the US to form it’s own sovereign nation. This is the only way we escape the oppressive Marxist wave that is coming in the future. Maybe not in 5-10 years but I am willing to bet in the next 50 years we will not recognize this country anymore.

The progressives will do anything they can to squash our liberties and destroy capitalism. They hate freedom. They hate human flourishing. They are complete nihilists. I think secession is the only peaceful way to end their totalitarian end goal.

I think it will probably happen at some point, but it will be decades away. I'm talking when Gen Z is entering retirement age.

I think people of the future will say "we either secede or go to war." Hopefully, unlike 1860, cooler heads prevail and an agreement is reached for such a split.

The entirety of Red States will be slowly infiltrated by Blue State metastases. There will be no majority to propose secession in any state. See: the fall of Rome.

You have to be ignorant by its truest definition to not see the Marxist trends that have been dividing us from within.

To the OP, idk if secession is or isn't the best plan... and we certainly wouldnt be tbe super power we became had we not formed a union, but I will say this... BOTH sides, by now, may start to see the genius to the idea of states having more power to govern themselves, and avoid whatever outside influence they wished.

I think the US would be better off split in several parts that would then form a EU style Union that allowed free movement/trade between the different regions.

Or if the national govt sticked strictly to national defense and international relations whilst giving multiple regions autonomous control over their region in terms of laws/regulations

I don't know why it's not a more popular movement on the right. How can people on the right look at the ideas and actions of leftists and think that sharing a government with people like this and potentially being ruled over by people like this is a preferable outcome for the future?

this same thread has been done ad nauseum here the last few years, via fax machine newsletters in the 80’s and 90’s and snail mail newlsetters before then.

My degree of ignorance and your degree of hyperbolic martyrdom are inversely related.

Secession is a natural right

It's right there in the Declaration of Independence.

Freedom of movement isn’t a good idea when other member states are in favor of open borders and unlimited immigration. Thats been a major point of dispute in the EU

The problem with free movement, though, is people would simply move-in, infiltrate governments and turn us into a Marxist haven like they places they left. There would have to be constitutions that are very difficult to change.

Legally, if they did not renounce citizenship, they would be expaites in a forgien country and still entitled payment. The secret to secession is in the tax laws and in the front of your pants.

Some states other than the south are gonna have to lead the charge. Many of the rebel flag wavers down here still have gotten over the previous loss yet.

My position on this issue is in my sig.

Secession should never be taken off of the table, once the USA has abandoned the rule of law, the US Constitution and the principles in the US Declaration of Independence.
