What are Trump and Republicans doing? Warning: Concern Troll

Huge Maga fan here but Trump's gun control ramble concerns me. This isn't an issue where you can just get up and talk off the cuff. Huge misjudgment in my opinion.
Also concerning is the seeming lack of urgency or understanding that we have a great chance of losing the house and if that happens then Nancy Pelosi and Democrats will make these past 2 years of inaction seem like a huge success story. Trump will likely be impeached in the House. Muh Russians on steroids. It'll be a lot of bullshite...etc.
Yes, we need to govern but we also need to pass the agenda that has absolutely no chance under Democrat rule.
But instead of taking this seriously, we sit around passing nothing, doing nothing but following the Democrats lead and getting outmaneuvered at every turn. No wall, No Obamacare repeal, No Infrastructure, just tax cuts and probably tougher gun laws.
Incredibly disappointing.

Nothing will happen on gun control. Relax.
If "just do something" means that politicians just need to talk about possible ideas, regardless of how unlikely, then that's fine. That's a "just do something" I can support.
Everyone knows nothing will happen.

Trump is baiting dems on gun control. He is proposing gun control knowing that rather than take what is offered, the dems will reject what Trump is proposing (despite it being things they have repeatedly called for in the past) in favor of much more ambitious gun control measures which have no chance of passing, no chance of presidential support, and will turn public sentiment against them for midterm elections.
Trump knows his enemy and is baiting them into a trap which they are all too willing to run into.

^This. Florida's governor proposed gun control regulations that Democrats have been asking for for years, yet they ate him alive for it because it wasn't aggressive enough.

You have a Republican congress that chose to not govern at all for 8 years looking for leadership from a guy with no political experience, and wishy-washy policy ideas.
You really should have seen this coming.
