My brother went to UVA Law and has worked in DC for his whole career. Through law school friends, colleagues and such, he used to be pretty plugged in to lawyers for the DOJ, federal judges, etc. He's met Eric Holder to Clarence Thomas. He doesn't mingle as much anymore because it's a swampy mess there.

People he knows said she is over her head.

The didn't do what I expected! They must be blackmailed and/or bought off!

Every. Time. Maybe, just maybe, even for a conservative your opinion and knowledge on the matter, doesn't matter to even other conservatives.

I thought we liked State's Rights here.

I get so confused as to whether we want States to have power or if we like our justices to be activist or what.

You raise an interesting question with your statement above. However, I think it is misplaced.

If I understand you, some arm of the state (ie the university) has absolute authority to determine the freedoms of people without any due process)

Now, the argument is that this is an emergency and the state has various powers. This might have an application if it was last year in the beginning. It also would have an application if the governor or some actual official made the decision using their actual powers. However, some unelected president or board makes rules that affect the freedoms of people raises many different issues including the application of due process.

And, as stated above, the fact acb did this makes me extremely disappointed and sad about our future if the courts do not protect our freedoms and liberties. Every day is a step farther away from freedom and a step closer to tyranny

You do realize that in order to attend LSU you must prove that you are up to date on all of your vaccines anyway? From a legal standpoint she is on solid ground...See the Jacobson ruling from 1905. Where they would be overstepping is if they required it for private entities to check . Private businesses can require it as a matter of service. But methinks that they would be cutting their own throats. If some business starts requiring it you should stop doing business with them....even if you are vaxxed and have the card. Bankrupt the fukkas.

That’s how judges should be instead of reading into the law what’s not there to fit their own personal beliefs.

Though not every time they stray from the poli board consensus is them being blackmailed and activist

Ted Cruz would have made a much better justice than Kav or ACB.
