The Democratic Party at its finest. The amazing thing is that he stood in the doorway at the university and said segregation forever. Changed his mind next election cycle and sambos voted for him 95%. Democratic voters shave always been stupid!

It is little discussed because it has largely been erased out of the books by the official palace historians but the recently eulogized Jimmy Carter was an avowed segregationist of the George Wallace mold during his first foray into politics. Elected to his local school board in 1955, the Sumter County School Board openly defied the landmark 1954 SCOTUS Brown vs. Board desegregation decision while Carter was the chair.
Carter also sought the endorsement of fellow Democrat Wallace when he ran for Governor in 1970. Carter hoped to capture the anti-civil rights, anti-establishment and anti-Washington electorate that served as the base for Wallace’s earlier 1968 presidential campaign.
It was only when Carter later was contemplating a run for national office did he abandon these populist tendencies. Whether out of political expediency or a change of heart, Carter later courted rising black political leaders like Andrew Young as political allies.
George Wallace later followed a similar tactic in his later political career. Wallace won his last two elections as Alabama Governor with an overwhelming plurality of the black vote.

ETA: I did your research for you. There was unsubstantiated speculation by bloggers that Rush engaged in sex acts with minors. Zero evidence. Only speculation. But we know that’s all the left needs to pursue charges against republicans. I therefore dub you an NPC. Just following the playbook.
