I don't know if it is or isn't. But what I do think is far-fetched is that these criminals are going to walk up to a U.S. port of entry and ask the U.S. for asylum.
Why?
Isn't that how some of the MS-13 bangers have got in?

Do you have any link to this happening in Mexico?

I mean, it's not that far fetched if they're coming from places with little to no central government. Someone could commit a murder, then jump in with caravan and apply for asylum before anyone knows what happened.

I assume that they would be afraid that you U.S. would arrest them and/or turn them over to their country's LE.

What if they've never been caught for the crimes they committed? There are plenty of unsolved crimes in central america

You want so badly to come on here and (try to) show how smart you are (NOT) that you say stupid stuff without having any idea what you are talking about. If you present yourself at the border and ask for asylum it is not an illegal entry. Try again.

You think the U.S. would grant them asylum if they were. Another example with you having a problem with the concept of relevance. Not a good thing for a lawyer.

Tell you what Mr. Smart A$$. Go look it up yourself, or don't. IDGAF.
Just as I expected.

It's entirely possible for the fellow caravaners to know someone is a criminal without the government knowing.

All of them are criminals. They're entering the country illegally.
The illegally entered Mexico too so they are international law breakers
Repeat offenders!

So you're just making random wild claims with no support. Got it. I'll hit the ignore and unsubscribe button now.

Defensive asylum is an entire process for those currently subject to removal proceedings claiming asylum. You are such a moron. You have zero clue what you’re talking about.
Not one person in this thread was talking about defensive asylum, dolt. Another of your failed weasel out attempts.

Are you willing to house one of these people yourself?
Are you willing to pay the entire costs for these people?
Do you think these people will follow exact asylum procedures?
If not, what in your opinion should be the consequences?

You're a dumba$$. There were some of the May 2018 caravan that applied for asylum in Mexico just like some in the current caravan applied for asylum in Mexico.

Try again. Asylum can only be granted to persons who enter through a port of entry.
Simply crossing the border just makes you illegal. PORT OF ENTRY. And they are not trying to do that anyway.
They dont want (or deserve) asylum. They either want free stuff (welfare) or a job so they can send money back their shitty hometown. frick them. I hope each and every one of them starves to death in the desert on the long walk home.

If you don't think terrorist and criminals are mixed in with the good people......
That says way more about you then anyone else.
It says -- YOU ARE A NAIVE MORON.

You are so silly. It is you trying to weasel out.
I said:
quote:
Defensive asylum is an entire process for those currently subject to removal
Which was in response to you saying:
quote:
You think the U.S. would grant asylum if they were
Which was a direct response to me saying:
quote:
Zero relevance to your assertion they aren’t breaking criminal laws
So I say laws are being broken...you say if they were the us wouldn’t grant asylum. I point out that defensive asylum is just that....and you get offended I bring up defensive asylum.
This is a perfect example of your inability to keep up.
