Yet fast food restaurants and takeaway restaurants are still up and going, so there should be a decent demand for beef and pork even if not at normal levels.

People eat less in a pandemic, man. While some people are stress eating, many aren’t eating much at all. Maybe the OT is full of shite, but people are losing weight due to this.

The problem is that meat leaving the menu in the west bumps up prices on other food products.

A number of countries like Mexico, for example, have had a lot of issues over the years because ethanol production has caused corn prices to skyrocket and made it hard to feed people.

You don’t understand my argument that this greatly interrupts the supply lines. The first world will eat before the second world which will eat before the third world. The third world is going to be so fricked when this is said and done.

Since I'm a daily shopper I've noticed a pattern with meat.
Day 1...LOTS of chicken. No beef, no pork.
Day 2...No chicken. LOTS of beef, no pork.
Fish is always scarce. LOTS of frozen shrimp at good prices.

The problem is that famine is a hell of a motivator for migration.

You think the bullshite convoys up through Central America to the US and the Middle East and Africa to Europe were bad? Those were just economic migrants. This would be far worse.

Maybe they'll learn to stop popping out 6+ kids a family then.

They need to get jobs and provide for themselves.

Meat Shortage

Now we're going to have to go out and hunt for our own meat.

Oh wait, you can't leave your home and go into the woods because leaving home and being alone in the woods is going to kill others.

Never mind.

May not even need that...

Mexico isn’t letting a swarm of locusts come through their country on the agreement they continue on to the US when they have their own problems.

I’d be more concerned with a new refugee flow to Europe.

This right here is probably the main problem. Wendy's has a contract with a specific processor to make those patties square and the same weight, etc... If that processor has problems, they cannot simply reach to another processor for their patties... Probably applies to most burger joints...

I think Chic-Fil-A has a contract with Pilgrim's Pride for their chicken breast that go on their sandwiches and that processor put in a special water cutter that cuts them the same size and weight... Something happens there and Chic-Fil-A is fricked to an extent...

It is not like these places have folks in there pattying out the burgers...
