Why not? Bush was a single issue candidate. He wanted to be president. That's as close to any issue he ran on. I was a voter in Texas then. There were no issues he ran on.

You completely avoided the exact timing of the filing of the divorce paper work, rather convenient for you to do so. Even more convenient for her to do it as she never paid a F'ing dime out of pocket. Go back to you slot machine.

You're lying Nittwitt. No where in the story does it say she never paid a dime. She had been practicing for years. Plus she paid voluntarily $1200 per month in child support afterwards.
If she married him for the money, she would divorced him earlier and used the kid to get a big fat child support award.
Folks like you were defending Gingrich after he divorced her as soon as he learned she had cancer. "the timing" didn't matter, he was in lurve.
Now go back to your free wifi at CCs you homeless nut.

A single mother working two jobs, she met Jeff Davis, a lawyer 13 years older than her, married him and had a second daughter. He paid for her last two years at Texas Christian University and her time at Harvard Law School, and kept their two daughters while she was in Boston. When they divorced in 2005, he was granted parental custody, and the girls stayed with him. Wendy Davis was directed to pay child support.
I remember when it used to just be her views I disrespected.
And this friendly description:

a champion of women’s health care
You mean, she wants The State to coerce the taxpayers to pay really sketchy women and their ghoulish abortionists to suck the brains out of their babies skulls, or dissect them while alive until the moment the are born, and even later if the feminist spirit demands it.

Evidently he has strong feelings for Ms. Davis.

I think she's about to face a lot of questions she doesn't want to. How she handles them will make or break her viability as a candidate for higher office.

that story is a potential career killer in a state like TX. win or lose, she is set for life on MSNBC/Fox and in the DNC

She isn't bad looking from what I've seen.

I'm shocked the DMN wrote that article. It helps Abbott a lot because if he talked about the kind of stuff mentioned in the article he'd be wagging a war on women .
No wonder she's so pro abortion.

She never had a shot in Texas.
But you're right, she'll be able to be a left-wing pundit for the rest of her life.

i'm not just talking about the governor's race...she may be done altogether, even in her little district
all of her skeletons are going to come out (like this story). TX ain't going to like a lady who couldn't stop her political aspirations to be a mother to her child...especially with the whole "abortion" angle (they're indirectly related)

Yeah, her choice of words in her explanations are going to be crucial.
Posted on 1/19/14 at 3:05 pm to TheLankiestLawyer
well if her explanation re: being a sugar baby ("we spent community funds") are any indication, only pure libtards will accept them

She barely won her own district hiding from the fact that she was a D.
This article will hurt her big time. Her background seems like something liberal women would be totally against.
The main thing she had going for her was being an every day woman. That is out the window now.

Interesting that the former spouse seems to be supporting her, though. Almost as if he knew what the arrangement was from the beginning.

i doubt he'd have charged her child support if he knew what the deal was at the time
it is in his interest to not sling dirt, for about 100 reasons

People that are me(I don't speak for anyone else) didn't support Gingrich in any endeavor) to type that makes you a liar, and not me. So please do GFO for your efforts and lies.

My guess is she wanted to pay the support to deflect some of this criticism. So she can't be called a deadbeat and whatnot.
But it's not like he financed the HLS education with surplus funds. I think the article said he mortgaged the house or took out a loan or something. Certainly seems like he put his personal financial situation on the line for her education. That's not something a typical sugar daddy would do.
