WEF advisor Yuval Noah Harari believes that we don't need most of the world's population, and the only point they serve is as "data". He talks about a world that is essentially "The Matrix", where people aren't necessary.

Harari Article

quote:

You have all these smart people in California and in New York and in Beijing, and they are planning this amazing future with artificial intelligence and bio-engineering and in global connectivity and whatnot, and they don’t need me. Maybe if they are nice, they will throw some crumbs my way like universal basic income,’

quote:

“Now, fast forward to the early 21st century when we just don’t need the vast majority of the population,” he concluded, “because because the future is about developing more and more sophisticated technology, like artificial intelligence [and] bioengineering, Most people don’t contribute anything to that, except perhaps for their data, and whatever people are still doing which is useful, these technologies increasingly will make redundant and will make it possible to replace the people.”

This is essentially what you get when you don't believe in God. The planet should be run by robots and AI.

I can’t disagree with that.
Most of the world’s population are resource takers and don’t really contribute.

It IS interesting that they want to replace God with AI. That’s some serious mark of the beast stuff.

Well, if he truly believes that then he should off himself.

I wonder what God thinks of Harari and his opinions?

God sent prophets to foretell of these shenanigans and how it all will unfold.

FWIW, based on current resources and birth/death rates the carrying capacity of the earth is approximately 12.5 billion. We are scheduled to reach that carrying capacity in 2200.

The carrying capacity may actually be lower because one of the underlying assumption is social welfare ponzi schemes will grind to an end. These social welfare ponzi schemes can only be sustainable under growing populations. As the population curve flattens social welfare ponzi schemes will become less and less sustainable so the 12.5 billion carrying capacity may be 10-20% lower.

How smart can they actually be if they're engineering a future with AI and no humans?

In the absence of God rises the birth of this type of thinking.

That guy just wants to have gay sex with robots. That's all he cares about.

It's interesting how all the people who think the earth's population should be culled never want to start with themselves.

I think he’s highlighting a problem that many have tried to point out. Charles Murray in 2 books, The Bell Curve and Coming Apart…any number of other public intellectuals. As our economy becomes much more technical and less reliant on physical labor more folks are displaced. When you add AI, you even start to displace the white collar workers. This isn’t like the car replacing the horse and buggy, where people shifted their skill set; this is the replacement of human capital.

These people are soulless automatons. They lack the basic values that make people human. This technological utopia they envision will turn into a dystopian nightmare.

Pfizer Documents & Official Real-World Data prove the COVID Vaccines are already causing Mass Depopulation

The world is at a crossroads, and the elite has two choices. They sustain millions or even billions of people with financial support and help to ensure they survive and live quality lives. Or, they set about to depopulate the world.

Unfortunately, evidence suggests they chose the depopulation route a while ago, and their plan to do so is already in motion.

Here is that sinister and alarming evidence.

If bioengineering and AI reach the level he describes, then why couldn't normal people increase their intelligence through those means?

Aside from that, I'm skeptical of how widespread AI becomes on the scale he talks, because there's going to be large energy footprint on any sophisticated AI, especially if it's AGI.

Even the most recent AI improvements are still cost prohibitive for a lot of people.

And as far as which jobs go first, you're wrong in saying blue collar jobs go first. Most experts think the opposite because the resources required to replace blue collar workers would be astronomical (you need compute + mechanical components)compared to the white collar professions(you'll only need compute).

The industrial revolution up to now replaced a lot of blue collar professions but as of now you can't even replace a janitor. I know a lot of AI that's replaced stock traders though.

Recent AI advancements seems to imply replacing more creative fields such as graphic artists, which are far from blue collar.
