I'm not denying that. But it's hard to export more oil than you import when it's illegal to export oil.

I would argue that the American oil industry accomplished this feat in spite of Obama.

We have always bought and sold oil internationally depending on grade and who needed what, we were equivalently energy independent and still are, we export far more LNG than we import heavy crude.

Simply put energy independence will never mean you import nothing simply that you produce as much as you use.

Brandon is a dipshit but this is a false narrative.

So the price of oil, and other commodities, are at record highs because of what? Unicorns?

That's the definition of energy independent.
yeah, if you could force companies to sell all of their oil domestically. How would things be different today if we had slightly more exports than imports?

Absolutely nothing, prices are high for absolutely no reason.

Of course you would.

That said, while Obama signed the bill into law, lifting the ban was a compromise he made in order to get his green shite passed.

He still signed it though, and the American oil industry never would've been able to export more oil than they import without Obama lifting the ban - for whatever reason.

Love this board, have been reading this site for years. This is where I come to catch up on the news and so forth. I don’t post any at all but felt like I needed to share this.

I run a 4 house poultry farm so I use a lot of natural gas in winter and electricity in the summer. So in December I got my gas bill in and it was $4,900 for the month. I was shocked to say the least and thought maybe I had a leak but none was found. Well January’s bill came and it was $4,700, so I was left with no choice to pull money out of retirement so they didn’t cut off my gas.

So I called the gas company to find out what was going on. Of course they explained it went up and compared my highest bill of last year to this years. January of 2021 my gas bill was $2300. The next highest bill was $1500. So it more than doubled.

So to say I’m pissed is an understatement, I would probably lose my farm if I didn’t have money put back. Electricity is supposed to go up 15 to 20 percent so I’m not looking forward to that. Stolen elections have consequences and I’m getting it up the arse with these bozos in charge.

Oil is under $100 right now, it was over $180 14 years ago.

From late 2014 till now our economy exploded due to cheap fuel prices due to an oversupply condition, we are now reverting to the mean.

Anyone who expected both the worlds largest corporations and foreign governments to keep losing money to supply them with cheap gas is an idiot.

You are correct, but to give credit to Obama for the shale innovation is laughable.
