I would’ve much preferred to flip Brazil rather than Iran.

They’re in our hemisphere.

They have a bigger economy.

They have a real populist movement.

They’d help break BRICS thus strengthening our dollar.

There is no religious obstacle to overcome.

No question… it’ll probably never be anything to write home about as a beacon of western democratic and judicial ideals.

I’m just arguing it can’t be a Chinese/socialist nexus in South America as it’s shifted post-Bolsonaro if we want to counter the move to destabilize the dollar as reserve currency and avoid China becoming not just a regional hegemon, but a global one long term.
