Iran has no leverage for if we want that Strait open with negotiation we turn up the bombardment volume. The only reason Iran is not left totally defensless is to protect themselves from their neighbors. But we have ALL of the LEVERAGE.

What? If we had all the leverage, we would not have sought peace. We would’ve just opened the straight. Iran knows that they can cause his problems by closing the straight down. That is their leverage.

Going into Saturday, I hope this isnt a cluster frick by the Iranians thinking they have a bigger stick than the US.

I fully think that if they try any frickery that Vance and team will get up and walk away...Then the bombs start dropping.

Who from Iran is participating in the talks?

Abbas Araghchi, their foreign minister, and Mohammed Bagher Ghalibaf and Abdolnaser Hemmati, leader of their central bank. Araghchi was the lead negotiator during the JCPOA talks, Ghalifbaf is part of the hardliner faction and Hemmati is more in line with an economic liberalization approach while also representing a more moderate, economic focused faction. Araghchi and Ghalibaf were members of the IRGC as well.

That is a great question and another reason why it will be interesting to see who shows up at the talks!

Just because we the public don't know these answers doesn't mean our leadership doesn't.
That's a hard truth for many goof balls around here to grasp.

Also, there's NOTHING about ANY of this that America needs to "wish for".

Dude. You could have easily just included this.

quote:

The Iranian Delegation

The Iranian team is expected to be led by high-ranking officials, including:

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf: The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament.

Abbas Araghchi: The Iranian Foreign Minister.

Masoud Pezeshkian: While not confirmed to be at the table personally, the Iranian President confirmed his country's participation following discussions with Pakistani leadership.

quote:

The Mediators

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif: Representing Pakistan as the primary mediator hosting the talks.

Field Marshal Asim Munir: Pakistan's Army Chief, who has been involved in the diplomatic coordination to secure the two-week ceasefire.

Two of the measures mutually agreed upon between the parties have yet to be implemented: a ceasefire in Lebanon and the release of Iran’s blocked assets prior to the commencement of negotiations,” Ghalibaf said in a post on the social media platform X.
“These two matters must be fulfilled before negotiations begin.”

Trump signalled his administration planned to take a hard line going into the negotiations.

“The Iranians don’t seem to realize they have no cards, other than a short term extortion of the World by using International Waterways,” he wrote, referring to Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz.

“The only reason they are alive today is to negotiate!”

US Vice President JD Vance said he expected “positive” results from the talks as he departed for Pakistan on Friday morning.

You have a better chance at sneaking a sunrise past a rooster than getting Iran to negotiate in good faith.

Oh I agree. But once it is proved how easy they are to manage, then the Strait conflicts are gone forever. Which means far less money for the MIC's worldwide.

Word on the street is Jimmy Sexton has been retained to negotiate on Iran's behalf.

Iran about to get a 10 year ten trillion dollar deal, 5 trillion guaranteed in gold, with the ability to opt out after 2 years.
