It doesnt take reports from insiders to see that Trump is a buffoonish man-child that has to be handled like a toddler in his daily business. The people surrounding Trump probably feel like it is a patriotic duty to keep him from setting the oval office on fire or rubbing feces on the curtains. We'll be hearing for ourselves on Wolfe's tapes shortly im sure.
Trump was sent to DC by a public desperate for some meaningful change to the swamp, but by all accounts Sloppy Steve Bannon was instrumental in protecting Trump from swamp creatures like McConnell and Ryan. However, with Sloppy Steve dead in a ditch I think its safe to say we're about to see Our President finally fully succumb to the GOPe. In fact, its already begun.

They'll give Trump a couple rolls of chain link and call it a wall, pat him on his head and give him some time in the jungle gym at McD's.
