Watching that TMZ show about the shooting

Just picked up on something I hadn't thought about before. Sorry if already discussed here.
We are being told by the FBI and SS that there weren't any direct communications, radio or otherwise, between the agencies or to Trumps team near the stage. They were having to text and email and shite, right?
Yet immediately after the SS team surrounds Trump on stage, one of them says "shooter's down". If there were no communications as they proclaim, how the hell did he know that so quickly?

An official in Pennsylvania told the media immediately after the shooting that everyone was communicating in a “closed tactical channel”, so someone is lying.

Didn't the swat spokesman say that there was no communication until the shooting occurred.

So you can't communicate for hours befor the shooting, but suddenly 30 seconds after the shooting everything works.
