Okay and years ago you were a psycho if you didn’t take a vax. Look at society now. Just because I can’t prove something doesn’t mean I can’t say it’s questionable about a dude trying to hide so hard.

Here is the most simple argument.

Why?

“Demar Hamlin is in the building! Yes, If they show him in the stadium in ANY capacity It will blow the doors off of this place.”

Welp he did show in some capacity but wouldn’t show his face.

Easy motive at basic level, even if you don’t want to believe it. So yes, he was/it was used for some reason.

I think he's not wrong that social-signaling is part of the act of rebutting, but so is open-minded inferences to conspiracy by making arguments about ambiguous evidence. People signal to each other that they're not establishment-shills who believe intellectual authorities.

The counter-argument to this is that knowledge has been built over-time by social structures that test it for falseness, reject the worst and provisionally accept the better ideas and periodically reject old concepts when certain thresholds are met.

Fair volley....

That said whatever is claimed actually new "knowledge"? Or just a newly created "credential" system and paradigm that benefits certain people with an agenda?

We also hit a bit of a snag on exactly who creates and defines "thresholds" -- as well as legitimately questioning the motivation of why "old concepts" are discarded -- especially with respect to Conventional vs. Alternative, aka Traditional Medicine. (Or "Science")

A slight aside -- There's a great piece on "Rockefeller Medicine" you may find compelling.

James Corbett

quote:

People who say that they distrust authorities either over-estimate the authority of themselves (arrogant) and/or end up trusting unworthy counter-authorities, favoring "stigmatized knowledge" for its having been rejected by the authorities they distrust. It won't do.

Sure. You may be correct in some cases, undoubtedly.

But why dismiss any and all legit challenges of authority and its dogma - because...."Authorities AND their dogma"? The fact of the matter is -- so-called authorities across the board are now lying at an unprecedented rate.

People are starting to "see" beyond "credentials" and "muh-Degree" and other "uniforms of unquestioned authority" -- i.e., white lab coats, hospital scrubs, badges, NASA costumes, etc.

"Authoritahs" these days have only themselves to blame for blowing their cover (and taking the good ones down with them.)

This is exactly what I’m talking about. This Hamlin is dead or it was a body double that spoke to the entire team or the game was scripted nonsense is so much more insane than being skeptical of a vaccine. You decrease the credibility of people skeptical of the vaccine by lumping yourself and this insane conspiracy in with them.

There are conspiracy theories out there that have been proven true. (Hunter laptop, tapped my wires, etc). However to claim those support something as insane as the NFL covering up a death only takes away from the validity of criticizing how the term “conspiracy theory” has been bastardized recently.

Why what? Why was he bundled up? Who knows. The most reasonable explanation is not “he is dead” or “that isn’t him”. You are placing the burden on the wrong “side”. Disprove the most plausible explanation before you ask others to disprove your less plausible allegation.

My comment is specific to "groups" on PT. I think it's laughable to attribute the reaction to some type of group think here, particularly when you consider the "group."

EVERYONE is "tribal" to one degree of another.

This thread IS about "tribalism" essentially. The sides are:

Those who assign themselves as Palace Guards of Authority & Dogma and Narrative UNCONDITIONALLY

vs.

Those who QUESTION & CHALLENGE Any / Some ALL of the Palace claims

This is wishcasting on your part. You're trying to set yourself up as some sort of beacon of freethinking. You're just lobbing shite at a wall, and trying to disguise it.

There's a social element of the discussion, but I think there are real different standards of evidence that people use in judging the plausibility of theories and maybe different ethics people have about publicly speculating about vast malevolent conspiracies with little evidence.

Why are we getting caught up in a far-fetched conspiracy about him actually being dead when there is the low-hanging fruit of the conspiracy that he’s alive but not yet fit enough to be at the game so the NFL trotted out an impostor for a PR stunt?

Because that also makes no sense.
