President Trump has made CNN one of his favorite punching bags on Twitter, calling the network “fake news,” “garbage journalism” and “the worst.” He has tweeted a video clip of him in a WWE wrestling match tackling a figure with a CNN logo superimposed on the head.
A video clip created by a child that CNN threatened to dox.

But Trump’s most recent attack on CNN seems to have especially aggravated the network, prompting what appeared to be an organized response from some of its most prominent journalists, including Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer, Christiane Amanpour and Brooke Baldwin.

On Monday, the network dedicated significant airtime to rebuking Trump.
“We have thick skin here at CNN,” host Anderson Cooper said Monday.

In another segment moderated by host Brooke Baldwin, Wedeman and fellow senior international correspondent Clarissa Ward spoke of the threats presented by Trump’s tweet.
Beyond being “disheartening,” Trump’s assault “emboldens” people in foreign countries who may already show hostility toward Western journalists, Ward said. What may come across as a joke in the United States could be life-threatening to reporters in the field, she said.

How come the media can criticize practically anything in the world and it's labelled journalism but let someone question the media and it's considered an attack on speech by the media?

Something about that sentence nauseates me.

Because they (and they alone) are the self-proclaimed Guardians of Democracy!

CNN playing loose with the facts about Republicans could expose House of Representative Republicans to nut who want to shoot them while they are practicing for baseball game.

You call a man in his 30s a child?

It was nicely done and focused on his rebuke of their international network. I particularly appreciated the way they highlighted the fact that many of their journalists have placed and will place themselves in mortal danger--most recently Arwa Damon and Brice Laine, who were within about one hour of dying in Mosul last year were it not for extraordinary air and ground support.
I'd think the POTUS, as an almost Vietnam vet, would understand the dangers facing international correspondents.

Liberals called Mike Brown a child, so whats the difference.

You would think the network wouldn't want to waste the sacrifice of these people by being fake news with no credibility.

Meh. They're silly, take too much bait, present news too sensationally, etc. But they generally present the facts in a straightforward enough way.
Oh, btw.

CNN thought people were going to attack their journalists after Trump's wrestling tweet and he thinks they have thick skin?
quote:
“His assault against a free press, a free press that stands up to him, will not stop us or any other legitimate news organization,” Cooper said.
There is hardly anything "free" about CNN. They are owned and controlled by a single political faction within the country.

If generally is 8% of the time, then we agree
