Democratic donors on Wall Street and in big business are preparing to sit out the presidential campaign fundraising cycle — or even back President Donald Trump — if Sen. Elizabeth Warren wins the party’s nomination.

In recent weeks, CNBC spoke to several high-dollar Democratic donors and fundraisers in the business community and found that this opinion was becoming widely shared as Warren, an outspoken critic of big banks and corporations, gains momentum against Joe Biden in the 2020 race.

I don't say this lightly, but anyone who makes or hopes to ever make more than 15 dollars an hour in their lifetime should fear this woman like Ebola.

I may be wrong, but if a warren presidency happens, I’d be anxious if I had a lot of money in the markets

Her policies would cause so much uncertainty and scare the shite out of investors

Warren's policies mirror all the rest. Biden is Obama 2.0 so they lost the election, even Bloomie can't save them.

They won't listen to this as they think they are above all. They will have Warren say big fats cats don't like me because she is anti establishment. They lose. Done.

How do you think the market would react to some of her proposals, dude?

She wants higher cap gains taxes, wealth taxes, and a trade policy eons more stringent than trump’s (GERMANY wouldn’t be an eligible nation under her plan)

Unlike the others, I do think Warren is actually active figuring out ways to do this stuff, not just making empty promises.

She has spent a lifetime convinced that the only purpose of capitalism is to take advantage of people.

She is a dyed in the wool Marxist. The others are just empty suits.

If donors back off if it’ll be Warren then next up will be whom I’ve always though it would be, that’s a Kamala/Spartacus ticket that’s impossible to beat even for the greatest showman of all presidents ever

This is what happens when you just spout off dumb ideas and have no real game plan.

Serves every Democratic party nominee right.

A lot of her economic policies are actually close to Trump’s. The rest of her is fricking awful.

Wall Street’s interests are in direct opposition to ours on most issues. This might actually have been a planted story from her campaign. She’s running against Wall Street on purpose.
