I know that, I'm in the military, I know how these charades work from the military perspective. And you know what? I don't care, if the shutdown on this matter reigns in spending on welfare programs and other handouts, I'm fine with it. There is a bigger picture here.

The military worship isn’t exactly making America great again. Cut that shite. We could cut 30% of the military budget and be just frickin fine.

Yep, cut those too. But the idea that the military budget shouldn’t be cut is just as absurd as not cutting the social programs.

You do realize that the military readiness is drastically lower than what it was even five years ago, right?
We're having to cannibalize planes just to keep some in the air. Our navy is lagging, which affects the USMC's forward deployed Marines. The F-35 isn't ready yet and how long has it been in construction?
Sure, we need to end programs that aren't necessary to the military readiness and we need to trim some of the fat, but we'd still be underfunded.

That's fine if you don't buy it, I'm just telling you what I've seen first hand in my time in the military.

Remember the Crusader project that got scrapped back in 2004?
There's STILL funding for parts of it in the defense budget.
When I was in Iraq in 2011, USF-I headquarters literally had personnel COL and above double and triple slotted into the same position.
They had more O6s on Camp Victory than E1-E4 combined.
Don't get me started on WIN-T. They upgraded almost 90% of the Army's Brigades only to find out that the system is terrible and they're already starting new fielding.
CPOF (Command Post of the Future) was an outdated system before it even was put in use.
