He just became the face of a shutdown. The dumb arse Republicans managed to hang the last one on the Democrats. This one will go down as a Republican and therefore Trump shutdown.
Most of you retards don’t really understand politics much less economics. Once you gain an entitlement you never give it up. Over 40% of our populace doesn’t pay income tax. They are dependent on the state to certain extent. You want to stay the hell away from defunding the military and veterans. This little pissing match every few months is going to blowup in the Republicans face. That face is Rand Paul’s now.

95% of the government is still up and running during a "shutdown." The government doesn't actually shut down during these little charades.
And I'm all for Rand Paul holding people accountable. We need less spending. When I say less, I mean like we need to spend A LOT less than what we are right now. People like McConnell were elected because they were thought to be fiscally responsible, turns out, they're not.
Also, the Democrats shut the government down because they wanted to see illegal aliens granted amnesty or citizenship. Rand did this because he's tired of the bullshite with the spending. As are 99% of all tax paying Americans. We allow these assholes to take a certain percentage of all our money and we want to see that which was taken spent wisely, it's not being spent wisely now, so I'm glad that we at least have somebody on the hill that is willing to say "No, get this shite in order."

You forgot to add that Pelosi owns it too. She said, "No deal!" ...unless they guarantee a DACA vote.
They can pass a partial bill to pay the military, then focus on the rest of the budget. We have to cut spending. We can't continue accumulating debt.
$20 trillion at 3% interest = $600 billion paid per year in interest payments. That would fund the military for about a year. We pay this every year.
The sad news is that we have a lot of debt with low interest rates AND HAVE NOT LOCKED IN THOSE RATES.
As interest rates rise, the US will be screwed.
The interest on our debt is about the amount of our annual deficit. If we pay off our debt, then we'd be able to balance the budget. We could have a surplus some years which could be used to pay for natural disasters.

Any bill that doesn't slash welfare, is not a good bill. People can scream and say it's the military spending that is what problem is all they want; but fact of the matter is, it's the 60% of all spending that goes to welfare that is what's killing us.
And it's what is gonna kill future generations to come.
