Good for Pence. He can practice his 'steely glare' and 'righteous resolve' persona...so it'll add power on the Speech Circuit.

If the kooks really want to keep on with their nonsense, they can always try Mastodon for tweeting and Peertube for video, both of which are decentralized.

Trumpkins were absolutely convinced that Pence had a wide range of powers that he did not have. They thought:
- that he could choose the uncertified ballots of people who were chosen as electors in the event that their candidate won (by definition, they were not official electors for this reason. The law requires that certified votes be accepted by Congress.)
- that he could simply refuse to count the ballots and throw the election to the state delegations (he could not do this. His duty was as President of the Senate. They would have removed him and Grassley would have taken over)
- that he could form an election commission if he wanted to investigate claims of voter fraud (the Electoral Count Act was created because the last time this was tried, it was a political circus)
Why? Because there are many right wingers who are legal illiterates. Pence's job, via the Constitution, the 12th amendment, and the Electoral Count Act, was to open state certified ballots, ask tellers to verify the contents, and note objections.
That's what he did. He did his duty to the US Constitution and for that, "patriots" hated him for it.
They were butthurt for the same reason that people on this board remain paranoid to this day: they are part of a political cult of personality that will not stop lying to them.

Lots of people are rightfully mad, but at the wrong people.
Pence is a complete pansy. That's a fact.
But he didn't have much real legal authority to do anything about the election fraud.
The state legislatures in GA, PA, WI, MI, and AZ had ALL the power in the world, and instead of doing the right thing, they condoned and protected fraud.
