During covid, some middle eastern hospital decided to check vitamin D levels of all patients and compare covid outcomes. They were shocked to find that people with a blood level of around 50 never died.

Didn’t read the whole thread, but yes, Vit D is the most crucial vit/hormone deficiency in humans. You probably need 10,000 IU daily between Oct 1- March 31. Why? Because the angle of the sun, and the atmospheric break up of the light( no such thing as cold and flu season , only Vit D deficiency season)Also it’s fat soluble, so people that are Old, Fat, and with Dark skin need to supplement with emphasis , as displacement and absorption problems. New studies in Europe show decreased incidence of diabetes in supplemented trials, and new pathway discoveries show Vit D pathway in removing beta proteins in the brain. Vit D also regulates cytokine storm, tells the immune system “ that’s enough “, which killed most people in COVID, could have saved a lot of people if we applied preventative health. Also, Vit D is crucial to brain function, which you can chart from the equator, as the farther you live from the equator, you incidence of depression/suicide go up. Basically, we need the sun and sun exposure; we are basically, biologically, a walking Plant. I agree taking it with K2 helps clear the serum Ca++( the Vit) function, and especially from Oct-March and if you don’t get sunlight exposure, but if you get exposure after April 1, you should be good.

Doctors hardly ever check the levels

Mine does. I was tested and then put on a supplement. My elderly parents were checked too.

The best source is the sun. For the last 5 years I make sure and sit out in the morning sun for at least 45=50 minutes.

Why do you think they try and keep people from being in the sun as well, gotta keep that big pharma profit machine going treating all that cancer and other ailments.

I’m taking 5,000 IU daily. I was taking for a couple of months and was afraid I might have been taking too much so I had my doctor check my levels with other bloodwork. I think 31 is the low for acceptable range and I was only at 36. I’ve been pretty impressed with the extra energy I seem to have.

My doctor put me on it at beginning of COVID. I had to back down as my D 2 levels got too high.

Same here. When COVID hit, a doctor recommended the D3, C, and Zinc. He also recommended Quercetin to help the body use these supplements but I didn’t see that advice from other doctors so I passed. I also began taking Magnesium L-Threonate but I started having disturbing dreams…not scary nightmare dreams but dark/sad dreams like a sibling dying. So I stopped taking that.

I’m going to ask about testing D3 levels at my next physical.

It’s frustrating that a thread like this just a few years ago would be derailed by TD’s “scientists” who bought everything Fauci, NIH, CDC, Rachel Maddow, etc said without question.

I have also read if you live essentially above the Mason/Dixon line, no matter how much you are outside in the fall/winter months you probably aren’t getting enough vitamin D from the sun so

One last thing...I was on a pretty high dose but I go about 6'3 300lb and I found that my level wasn't high enough. And the reason is body mass index. Most people are fat... and fat people don't absorbed vitamin D too well.

Get the combo of D3 and K2. K2 is needed fir better absorption and will multiple several times the absorption

Yet this was never talked about during the scamdemic. Criminal failure by the public health establishment.

It was talked about a lot. There was a theory, which turned out to be false, that higher than recommended levels of vitamin D helped with covid. Recommended levels helped with covid, but elevated levels did not improve upon that. And elevated levels of vitamin D can be dangerous. This was all discussed on the news and in scientific journals during the pandemic.
CNN report from May 2020 (Sloppily written, but certainly discussing vitamin D)

This article tries to make the point that elevated levels don’t help. Due either to sloppy writing, or an animus against anything that would relieve the need for lockdowns, this article appears to be asserting that vitamin D doesn’t help. Reading the whole article, it becomes clear that it recommends supplementing to reach recommended levels of vitamin D but not elevated levels, which would not help and could hurt.

When you look at the people most affected, old and with co morbidity, one of the things that was common was the Vitamin D aspect, but also, they did not get outside much, if at all. Covid seemed to thrive in air ducts and closed environments.

I remember the ND/ Clemson game that year where the fans that were in the stands stormed the field. Everyone was lamenting and getting their panties in a wad that that would prove to be a super spreader event. Turned out there were no significant upticks in contracting....and the game was at night.

So outside in the sunshine with fresh air, followed by just being outside was a good defense.

Dr gave me the Vit D Rx and I dont think it raised my levels up to normal.

I do take a good multivitamin and also have Zinc that I take once in awhile.

I searched and bought a methylated Vit D supplement and hope that it helps with absorption. Started listening to Gary Brecka and his advice. Will see how that goes.

Everything you hear and see is how important Vit D is to your health.
