A .22 mag at 200 yards just doesn’t have the muzzle velocity to do that I don’t think.
Even a .243 which is common out there for prairie dogs at distance wouldn’t do that.

That is 100% a breakaway pellet gun. There is no mag, and you can clearly see the breakaway portion of the barrel if you slow it down right before they put it in the back of the SUV. If it was him, he didn’t use that gun.

Would the trauma be visible like it was on camera though?
With a deer I’ve seen massive internal blood pooling from a shot like that, but I’ve never seen an “explosion” beyond a pint mist.

Its a Ruger Impact Elite sold at Walmart. It even has the little black insert with the Ruger logo on the stock.

I said MIGHT. The neck is not a tough place and your artery is just under the skin. It certainly looks like it hit his carotid artery, thus the gushing of blood. It doesn't take much impact for that to happen.
However, when viewing the impact, it likely indicates it was more than a 22 mag from 125 yards. My guess is, and has been, that it was a suppressed 5.56.
