The smoke of satan. These people have to answer for their sins, I have to answer for mine. Having said that, there is no excuse for this kind of debauchery. Jesus was very clear what awaits those who engage in sodomy. In my years (I'm officially an ole man) most of the priest I've known were good decent men who only wanted to serve God and His flock. A few (and I mean a few) not so good.
Bottom line, YOU help somebody carry their cross today. Could be a good friend, or your neighbor. Do yourself a favor. Volunteer at your local soup kitchen.

Priests had been allowed to marry longer in the catholic church than not. Nepotism, i believe, was the cause as to why marriage was disallowed.

That's not really my point, though. My point was that unbelief is a moral problem, not an intellectual one. Seeing something doesn't mean you'll believe it, as we have evidence of all the time with people doubting their very senses.
It's like the parable of the rich man and Lazarus:
“There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man's table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side.
