They weren't until about midway through 2025 and then the shift started and now it's a full 180

Well, things change. And Canada doesn't want to play ball and negotiate. So I'm all for estrangement. Bastards boo our national anthem. They don't like us. Or 68% don't. They have chosen as a protest to no longer travel to the US. Bastards don't deserve us as friends.

We are way off topic here. I hope Vance waits until later.

MAGA has turned very neocon the last 2 years, yes.

You don't know the first thing about MAGA. You love to incessantly mention how "smart" you supposedly are, but you've witnessed the Political Establishment try to destroy the outsider Trump, who had never even run for county commissioner before running for President, and yet you're still blind as a bat regarding the dynamic which has been playing out for a decade now. They've thrown everything at him from the lie of Trump/Russia to 2 bogus impeachment trials to an FBI raid on his home to bogus indictments to finally the bullet in Butler.

But yet, you still don't have a clue.

You're the last person who should be weighing in on what MAGA is or isn't all about.

Covered what I wanted earlier ITT

I want the guy who promotes a smaller federal government with a plan for less spending and attacking the deficit. I won't get anywhere near a perfect candidate, given how left MAGA pushed the non-left in the US since 2016.

Less spending, less neocon influence, and re-establishing international trade would be the 3 policy choices with a chance of success.

They already did that with Trump a few years ago.

We started this trade war that's hurting both of our countries.

Why do you think it's wrong of them to have a reaction to this choice?

Are you completely discounting the notion that someone like Vance or Rubio could offer some semblance of that? Or are you just waiting to see who may or may not fall in line with one of the other

Well we know what Rubio is, and it's almost none of that. He was part of the original Tea Party wave in 2010, but he's had 16 years of politics to tell us who he is.

Neocons will never promote less spending because they will always protect military spending, if not argue we should spend more. And the military is one of the few areas we can cut to attack deficits.

Vance is more of a chameleon who uses his lack of history to be malleable, but I was posting ITT assuming he wasn't in.

Do you really want me to answer or do you have the answer? Well it's okay to have a reaction. And if that is it and there is no deal to be had and both sides decide that, then no deal. It's not wrong to have a negative reaction. I like it. It's hardly hurting the US with their targeted responses. And it won't be all better until Trump is gone. If at all. They seem to want to be European now.

That’s performative silliness.

I might even say, emotional.

Emotional?

By having principles and engaging in a rational analysis of who promotes them while not attacking them?

He won't run. He will let Rubio and the rest run. He will make money with a Think Tank. And maybe we will see him again in the future.
