My son is at west point and they are keeping them updated. He too was told it was a former student posing as a MP.

The MP part would make it tough for unsuspecting mids. Horrible to think about never felt more helpless as a parent.

Be hard to get away. Surrounded by a high solid wall and water on 2 sides. Hope they check boats as well as buildings.

Just getting word that the disgruntled mid story may be bogus and this may end up something totally different. If it was a hoax and mids retaliated on legit mp this could be Wild friendly fire… so much speculation. Son said it’s a shite show atm. So I went from thinking I had an idea of what’s going on to no clue

At least at West Point, a cadet can be sent down to serve as enlisted for a couple of years before being readmitted.
If the latter, he would still have a DOD ID that would likely get him into the yard.

Apparently the rumor was there was an active shooter impersonating an MP. A midshipman confronted a MP thinking he was the shooter but then was shot by the MP who was in fact a real MP. Midshipmen shot being taken to hospital.

Man that’s so sad but just goes to show how much damage a hoax/rumor can be especially in a place filled with highly motivated individuals
