Venezuela is classified as a minor player. A transport country. This is not about drugs, period.
It's crazy how much you enjoy being wrong.

Yeah those boats clearly aren't bringing drugs.
This like claiming the court cases against Trump were about justice rather than being politically motivated.
I don't give a frick what bullshite excuse is used, I know the truth and anyone dishonest enough to claim otherwise can lick my hairy bean bag.

Much of the U.S. policy commentary on Venezuela emphasizes drug-trafficking concerns. Yet the available data suggest Venezuela plays mainly a transit or secondary role, more than a primary source for U.S.-bound cocaine or other major illicit flows.
According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) “World Drug Report 2025,” the main cocaine trafficking flows to North America originate in the Andean countries and are not primarily routed through Venezuelan ports.

Given the foregoing, why does Washington continue to engage strongly with Venezuela? Multiple overlapping motivations explain it. First, the country’s poor human-rights record and breakdown in democratic governance provide a policy justification rooted in international law and normative commitments to democratic stability, accountability, and human dignity. Second, Venezuela’s geography and institutional weakness make it a vulnerability point in the regional illicit-flow architecture: even a moderate volume of transit traffic complicates interdiction, maritime patrols, and regional cooperation,

Deal. Why is a secondary transit nation more important to take down that the real problem nations?
Like Mexico and Columbia?
You asked, we will discuss issues.

Now we are getting somewhere. The purpose of the Monroe Doctrine was to oppose intervention by foreign powers in the Western Hemisphere.
This meant any intervention in the affairs of other nations in the Americas by foreign powers would be considered as an hostile act against the United States. And that is why this recent saber-rattling toward Maduro is occurring: Venezuela’s growing relationship with Russia.
And that means drugs are simply a pretext since these drug running regimes in South America existed long before the recent alignment of Russia and Venezuela. Why not just state the truth and admit this is a pressure campaign to isolate one of Putin’s few allies in the Western Hemisphere.

It’s not about drugs, it’s gonna be another war over oil and helping the rich get richer.
Is the real reason we might invade due to the 2020 election and Venezuelan software?

Just the opposite - and even if there were a short term increase - those guys can go to a South American country.

Just the opposite
Regime change in Afghanistan = Refugees
Attempted regime change in Somalia = Refugees
Regime change in Iraq = Refugees.
But in your opinion, this will never ever happen..

Your simple answer was something about booger.
Let's pretend it's abt drugs. Do you cosign a war where we decide to pick one trafficker out of a hat?
Do you cosign Hegseth's childhood wish to play Call of Duty with the US military?
