The use of Article 88 is exceptionally rare. Only two such convictions have occurred since the modern Uniform Code of Military Justice was enacted in 1951.
Watson is also the first major in the history of the military to be charged under Article 88.
The 40-year-old Watson could be dismissed from the military and forfeit his benefits if convicted.

Maybe you can rent him a room while he has an ankle bracelet on parole.
Would you do that? Then why do you expect others to do that?
Prison for life? You are probably against that, too.
Tell us then, when someone purposely planned to kill innocent people and carries it out, even killing an unborn child which you probably don't care about, what should happen to them?
Do you volunteer to pay more taxes to house them and feed them?
The victims do not get that opportunity.
With this extreme act of violence, some people's crimes should justly be carried out as an eye for an eye.
