Because Nato is attacking it. They are using satellites to target industry to attack. They are providing weapons and money and all necessary technical support for Ukraine to push the button to attack Russia. Nato is basically hiding in Ukraines panties fighting a war against Russia. Russia can only do this for so long. Eventually they are forced to either attack the drones and missile plants in Nato, attack its oil refineries Or nuke Ukraine and force it to stop being a whore for Nato and make Nato decide if it wants to step up and fight Russia face to face.

The OP strikes me as silly. The Russians are bogged down in Eastern Ukraine. They aren't opening another front or launching some 3rd rate Korean missile into Poland. What would be the point?

It made no sense for Hitler to invade and try and conquer Russia. But he did it anyways. Sometimes fanatical people make very poor decisions. What makes sense doesn’t always matter in a geopolitical decision.

Alex Jones has been saying this was likely for almost 6 months.
If we keep poking the hornets nest with long range missile strikes into Russia against strategic sites and it starts impacting their warfighting capacity in Ukraine I believe they will escalate in kind eventually.
They view the war in Ukraine as existential from a security standpoint whether anyone over here seems to want to listen or contemplate what that means in terms of their strategic thinking, particularly while we're tied up in Iran.
