Since Joey has been President 11 US embassies have been evacuated. Joey and his minions must be proud.

Meanwhile, General Milley gets hammered for his dereliction yet he lays the blame on all others while Linda Graham is in Ukraine begging Zelensky to lower the Ukrainian draft age. What a horrible person.
General Milley is a TRAITOR!!

Why would the CJSC have direct influence over what went on in Afghanistan more than the Commanding General of CENTCOM?

Did we get the Cobalt or not? We certainly paid for it with the equipment we left behind.

I’ve watched every minute of today’s testimony.
It’s been unsettling, the lack of accountability—at all levels.
Yet each person wants to offer their best to the “Gold Star families for their losses.”

I lost my daddy two days ago, and I’m sick over it. I can’t think. I can’t breathe.
Adding the additional variable of a “fricked up government” to my grief would break me.

Because he's the senior member of the military, and is the principal military adviser to the President, Secretary of Defense, and the National Security Council (NSC).

Always has been. Ever since he left muted to die in the streets of Mogadishu.

It's been like this since Vietnam and has been exacerbated by things like 'up or out'.

Sorry for your loss.

Don't torture yourself with idiots that care about their next promotion (or seat on the board at Raytheon) more than they care for our country. The top of our military is bloated like none other that I'm aware of, and every time in history that a military has gotten this way, it has imploded.

I'm sorry to hear that. Losing a parent is tough. You may not think so now since it's so fresh, but it will get better with time. Hang in there.

ain't got the words to tell you how sorry I am for your loss.. i will pray that you, your family & friends can find a few moments of peace during this tough time.. it's difficult right now, but time will help... eventually you'll reach a point where it's not so raw, so visceral, so overwhelming and it'll start getting a little bit better everyday... hang in there & may God bless you with moments of peace & calmness (no matter how brief) until you reach that stage.

Milley and McKenzie both should hang. Both of these weasels deserve the deepest depth of Hell for their cowardice!

Milley served his country. You didn't serve. Bet nobody in your family served. Love how cowards who never served who claim to care about veterans are always talking about veterans like that diaper wearing loser you worship.

You should read the Goldwater-Nichols Act of 1986 which removes all authority over the Geographic Component Commanders from the Joint Chiefs and has them report directly to the Secretary of Defense. The Joint Chiefs quite literally have no authority over the GCCs.

That's why I always thought it odd when we saw the portraits of the chain of command at headquarters elements and the Chief of Staff of the Army and CJCS had portraits when neither have actual command authority.

BLUF: CENTCOM CG reports directly to the SECDEF, not to the CJCS

President and SecDef have authority over those commanders and their main advisor, who is senior to those commanders, is the CJCS. If he's to not be involved in things like shutting down a theater, massive evacuations and the like, then he has no job. CJCS doesn't need direct command authority to have a role and a responsibility. Goldwater-Nichols Act spells out duties and responsibilities that are explicitly related to what went down in AFG, such as contingency plans.

They don't have a command, but they do have command authority. No one blows them off, refuses a "suggestion" and so forth. If they say "brief this to your Soldiers every Friday" it will become command policy whether they have command authority or not.

Let’s all remember who appointed that bozo Milley. Yes, Donald Trump the guy who told us he would hire “the best people”
