If the parent chooses for her child to go with her to Honduras, then I don't see the problem

The mother was here illegally, so she was deported (along with her two daughters who were also here illegally). The child is a minor, thus the government will usually default to keeping the child with the parent (unless the parent is shown to be grossly negligent, abusive, etc).

There's nothing here which would have kept them all here. This isn't "fighting for upholding the law," it's "trying to throw out as many roadblocks to deportations as possible because OMB."

Your blind devotion to partisan hackery is duly noted.

Why wasn't this child aborted to begin with?

You are a colossal vagina. Colossal.

If you have kids, please pass onto them that their Dad is a colossal vagina.

She/her identified as a legal citizen which is wrong, to me. I learned from Judge Judy the idea of “dirty hands” which says that if you are committing a crime and then feel someone wronged you then seeking a legal remedy is unlikely to make you whole again. In this case it’s “dirty vagina”, the attempt to anchor should not be allowed

The letter, in Spanish, reads, "I will take my daughter ... with me to Honduras."

So the daughter wasn’t deported.

Dumb fig.

So they should deport the two illegals and let the 2 year old stay here and fend for itself?

has *always* been US policy to give parents the option to bring their children with them if they get deported. It’s not out of the ordinary and it makes the most humane sense

And I’m pretty sure the child retains citizenship and when she is 18 she is free to return here on her own accord

A federal judge in Louisiana on Friday said that a 2-year-old U.S. citizen appears to have been deported with her mother to Honduras with no meaningful due process.

Is the mother here illegally. Can you see why it might play out like this…rightfully, if the mother is illegal?

I’m posting a story about a US citizen that was deported by ICE and a judge that seems to think due process was not provided.

That’s not what the ruling says. Did you even read it?

We have a process for all sides of a dispute to be heard and expect court advocacy for a minor US citizen.

Do you think that occurs in immigration courts? Yikes.

Also... is dad a citizen? I note the interesting "lives in the US" rather than "is a US citizen "... deport his arse too, now that he's spoken up.

The mother was at a regularly scheduled immigration appointment with her daughters the father was not with them. Honduras has been a country we allow asylum from since 2019. This year people from Honduras have until July 5th to check in.

If they wanted to deport them back to Honduras why not wait a few days and pick them up at their home instead of apprehending them at their scheduled appointments. A problem deporting people from immigration appointments is they will stop showing up. That makes it harder to track and locate them when they or relatives need to be apprehended.

If we only want non-citizens here legally working towards citizenship they probably shouldn’t be deported from their scheduled legal immigration appointments.

Wait, you think out foster care system is beyond this?

In 2019 there were an estimated 400,000 children in foster care, leaving the system overwhelmed and at its peak capacity. Of those children, it is estimated that up to 40% of them had experienced some type of abuse within the system.

Maybe they gave her an appropriate warning instead?
