Explain what?
It's utterly fascinating that you people think that engaging in any such process like this is nothing more than button pushing where you know exactly every single button you plan to push and exactly what time and all of your opponents just cooperate with that and sit around with their thumbs up their arse.
I mean I guess it would be cool if the entire rest of the world just rolled over but no rational human being thought that was going to happen. So you're going to have a lot of push and pull.
It's like none of you have ever engaged in smaller scale versions of the same kind of activity a thousand times in your own lives. We always hope our opponent will just roll over and kiss our arse but normal people anticipate the fact that that's probably not going to happen and react accordingly as the situation calls for

In sales the rule is; after presenting the deal, the first person to speak loses.
I'd say presenting your tariff plan and then exempting a huge chuck a couple days later is similar.
*You people that hate negotiating for cars should remember that rule. See how long the salesman can stay silent.

Trump: yuge tariffs on China.
Trumpkins: crush China! It was always about them! They will cave.
China: yuge tariffs on USA
Trump: nevermind the tariffs on China's high tech.
Trumpkins: bending the knee is brilliant!! Winning!! Yall don't understand the plan!!!

Exactly. Opening bid in negotiating down to zero tariffs each way.
Sit back and watch the master negotiator at work...

Two things. First you have no idea what discussions are occurring you're just seeing the steps. But to continue running with your sales example. If you're a Salesman and you don't speak but the person you're trying to sell to presents an objection you then have to attempt to overcome the objection. And if the sale you're trying to make has more than one ending that you would consider positive for yourself it might look a lot like what you're seeing. I mean sure it's not like selling a car but it's probably a little more fricking complicated than that too
quote:I don't negotiate for cars. It's silly in today's world. You know pretty much exactly what they have in them. I suppose if you went to nine different dealers you might see some slight variation and how far down you could dig them. But the difference would be very slight. Now I guess if you're one of these old school people who goes into the dealership not knowing a damn thing then yeah you probably better negotiate cuz you have no fricking idea where the bottom is

Oh my bad. I should never question Trump again. This is all working out perfectly.

Trump has bent the knee to China

Neither do you. However, there has been no mention of China talking. That would be hard to keep quiet and frankly the Trump admin would have zero reason to keep that from the press. In fact, they would want that to be the case as it would show China to be bending and this move to be responding. Eliminating all the talk of Trump folding.

Good for you. Beat your chest some more.
btw-Trade in is always ignored in these discussions. They can be highly variable dealer to dealer no matter if you "know" the price of the new one. But then I'm sure you knew that...

Yeah, well, come back when you go look up and let us know how that clueless Trump's tactics worked out for the EU and all the rest of the world racing to bend the knee.

Does this mean iPhone prices won’t go to 300k?
Because a few white dudes for Harris told me 300k.

There’s been a multitude of explanations offered including, looking to onshore jobs, looking to make country renegotiate deals, then the tariffs get paused except on China and the admiration claims victory and all the minions said “it was really only about China all along” now we’re at the point where they have made carve outs for the tech sector, and what has China given us for the carve out? Nothing, it’s yet another retreat. It’s clear now it was never about onshoring jobs because for the most part the tariffs are paused and in the case of China their biggest exports are now exempt

"Trump is killing our economy with tariffs!"
"Trump lowered tariffs. He caved!"
You people bounce from one thought to the next in your futile quest to "get Trump" without so much as even the slightest consideration for what you said before.
You don't care about tariffs. If you did, you would be happy, not using it in a lame attempt to denigrate Trump. Like the democrats, your thought process doesn't extend beyond opposing Trump. The worst part is that you've actually convinced yourself that you're not the same as the pink hats, trannies, and MSM.
This narrative that Trump compromising in any way is "bending the knee" and not negotiations is childish. It once again shows how the TDS crowd has to resort to absolutes.
You have to pretend victory is all or nothing because otherwise you would be forced to admit that Trump is improving the country. You can't stand that, so you resort to claiming his accomplishments aren't really accomplishments because they aren't as great as they hypothetically could have been. You guys have to twist yourselves into pretzels to downplay Trump's accomplishments, and each time makes you look more ridiculous than the last.

Well that's silly. Always question your leaders. But if your entire approach to the questioning is that you expect everything to have a stepwise plan from beginning to end with no deviations or else it's a failure then you're a dimwit. At least have an actual functional reason for your questioning
