No,

first how about you take a 10 foot flying leap up my arse... I don't fetch and step to requests

Baruch is just another heretic, only the second in Judaism

Apparently I admire heretics from 325 to 1640 more than the legions of church goobers with their hands down kids pants wrecking the psyche that God gave them in nature, and their many other victims.

Orthodox here, but Catholics are on the same page with us on many issues, much more so than most of the other 100,000 protestant denominations, so I'm curious:
quote:

You cannot even validate your own doctrines with your own bible, much less know what scripture says instead of the traditions of men.
What do you mean? Be specific, please.*

*This is a good thread, by the way. Chicken needs a religion forum, in my not so humble opinion.

Okay.

Great use of using your tiny little platform, edgelord.

Methodists should come home to the church founded by Jesus Himself almost 2000 years ago.

They should reconcile themselves to the one true church - the Easter Orthodox congregation.

I’m actually about as much an Augustinian as I am a Calvinist

Augustine believed in the infallibility of the church in specific instances. Calvin didn’t.

Augustine believed a person could resist grace that was offered it. Calvin didn’t.

Augustine believed a person could accept grace, be truly regenerate, and then fall away. Calvin didn’t.

Augustine rejected sola scriptura and sole fide. Calvin didn’t.

Augustine believed in apostolic succession and the monoepiscopacy. Calvin didn’t.

Augustine believed in the real presence in the Eucharist. Calvin believed in a watered-down version of it that was unheard of for the first 1,500 years of Christianity.

Augustine taught that baptism saves. Calvin didn’t.

Augustine taught the primacy of the Roman see. Calvin didn’t.

Augustine taught intercession of the saints and prayer for the dead. Calvin didn’t.

You’re not Augustinian. You’re just highjacking the name to make your sect sound older than a few hundred years, because it’s not.

You have a lesbian led organization that is openly blasphemous, and stealing the churches of the faithful.

But the Christians on this board would rather celebrate the failing of another denomination so they can puff their own up...

Well that is certainly a know-nothing Catholic thing to say.

Get your heart right little bro. Something is wrong with you. Narrow is the gate.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. - John 1:1

What you just tried to push is called Arianism, one of the most divisive heresies of all time, probably second to Protestantism.

The Catholic Church would welcome you with open arms.

No, they absolutely wouldn’t.

For starters, they don’t even have an open table. You’re forced to jump through years of their hoops and trainings before you’re even “approved” to partake in the Sacrament of communion. Psst … guess what, Catholics — I’ve cleared it with the Big Guy. He’s good with me honoring His body and blood, in remembrance of Him, despite your attempts at limiting such an act.

The Catholic church is definitely not an open arms/come as you are church.

I guess he got tired of posting as Squirrelmeister and created an alter. Then googled until he found Baruch Spinoza and latched on to his heretical teachings.

i was the stock broker for the UMF in arkansas from 1986 until 2004 the way it worked is that i managed roughly 100mm dollar endowment at that time the methodist church wasn't growing they weren't adding new churches but they were all adding "family life centers" so the UMF held the mortgages to the churches, but the individual churches provided the working revenue for the church. so as these individual churches have expressed interest in leaving the UMF, the UMF's stand point has been fine, just pay us what you owe us.

No you’re not. It takes roughly 6 months for someone who is completely new to Christianity.

This highlights how deep relativism permeates Protestantism. Everyone gets to decide what is true and what isn’t for themselves. The big guy left a church led by bishops who can trace their succession back to the apostles. Any pastor/preacher/minister who falls outside the circle of the apostolic churches is nothing more than a man (or woman since we’re discussing Protestant sects here) larping as a validly ordained minister, who has spiritual authority over absolutely nobody, and thus, no valid Eucharist.

Mainline Protestantism continues to die. Good. The heresy of the Protestant Revolution must be snuffed out.
