There's a difference between no homosexuals allowed in positions of authority and no homosexuals allowed period.
Homosexuals are allowed inside churches, but they will not celebrate or promote homosexual behaviors.

the split was mostly over performing same sex marriages. Most of the largest Methodist congregations in the US have told the World Organization to shove it and are performing same sex marriages

I do not know a single Methodist who makes this distinction.
The Methodist Church joined the United Brethren (Both Wesleyan Methodists in doctrine) to become the UMC.
What is your point in making this distinction?

The New Testament condemns divorce except for adultery. Once one of the partners is with someone else, doesn’t the adultery exception then apply? Even if you divorce for other reasons, all you have done is sin. It can be forgiven. The Bible gives qualifications for church leaders and one of them is to be the husband of one wife. This is why people believe a leader can’t be divorced. But in those days multiple wives was the norm. Christianity was the first religion to say marriage was one wife, so the leaders could only have one. How can a leader with many wives tell you that you can only have one? The bottom line is the only unpardonable sin is the rejection of Christ. Too many in the church want to add divorce to that list.

The men said they paid Enert a $500 bribe to ignore the church's ban on same-sex marriages.
The Telegraph said a spokesman for the Orthodox Church indicated the chapel had to be demolished because it was desecrated.”
(Happened in 2003, but Orthodoxy stands firm against the sodomites).
