Blair held Sedgefield for 24 years. County Durham is a place where mining and heavy industry reigned supreme. Think of the Rust Belt here. They voted to leave by a significant margin in 2016 and Labour ignored their wishes.

Labour is learning the hard way that the cosmopolitan political class in London doesn't exactly have the best political instincts and is not the end all be all of who calls the shots for Great Britain.
It's like a wife who doesn't frick her husband's anymore and absolutely believes that there's no possible way another woman could sense her husband's sexual frustration, takes advantage of that, gives him the fricking he needs and pushes the wife out.
