Yeah, praying they pull through. Other guardsmen acted quickly and took the suspect down. You never really know how you’re going to react in these situations despite all of the training so their bravery should be rewarded.

Yes, if they are there, they need to be armed. But here's the thing...they never should have been there in the first place. As soon as they were sent, I said to my son, who is in the National Guard, that Trump is just making them targets. Then this happens. The Guard is not trained to do urban policing. Having them there serves very little purpose, except to mildly suppress any street crime in their immediate patrol area. DC is full of criminals and far left extremists. Combine this with the current political climate, and it makes standing around on corners to fracking' dangerous.
